On the morning of February 28, Hanoi City Police held a ceremony to announce decisions on the arrangement and streamlining of the organizational structure, the assignment of officers when there is no district-level police force, and the merger of the Security Police Department and the Mobile Police Regiment into the Mobile Police Department.

At the conference, Hanoi City Police announced the decision of the Minister of Public Security on dissolving district, county, town police and affiliated organizations.

Accordingly, 30 district-level police stations and affiliated organizations (except for the Police Station) were dissolved. At the same time, decisions on personnel work were announced and handed over, and the consolidation of the Security Police Department and the Mobile Police Regiment into the Mobile Police Department was implemented.

Although the organization has been streamlined, the functions and tasks of the Hanoi City Police have not been reduced but have also received 4 new tasks from departments and branches under the City People's Committee.

This is one of the largest and unprecedented restructuring and streamlining of the Hanoi Police force, part of the general trend of streamlining the apparatus for effective and efficient operations throughout the entire political system, and is one of the seven strategic orientations to bring the country into a new era, the "era of national growth".

This restructuring and streamlining of the organization affects all three levels of police in the Hanoi City Police, of which the most direct impact is on 30 district-level police.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung - Director of Hanoi City Police proposed to review and amend the regulations and working style of the unit, assign tasks to leaders, commanders, officers and soldiers according to the new organizational structure, with the spirit of new organization, new tasks, new staff, the quality, efficiency, awareness and responsibility of work must be new; focus on building staff right in the unit to meet the requirements of new functions and tasks.

The Director of Hanoi City Police also requested units to urgently consolidate party organizations and committees according to the new organizational model as prescribed... strengthen monitoring, grasping the situation, inspecting and supervising the implementation of tasks for each field of work of the force system for commune-level police to promptly detect difficulties, obstacles, shortcomings, limitations and propose measures to correct and remove them.
