(LĐ online) - On the afternoon of February 25, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Chairman of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee, chaired the Conference to deploy tasks for 2025. The conference was held in person and online with the participation of representatives of relevant ministries, branches and localities across the country.

At the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee bridge, comrade Vo Ngoc Hiep - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the Conference with the participation of leaders of the Provincial Police and departments, branches, sectors and related units of the province.
• AVIATION SECURITY SITUATION IN 2024
According to the report of Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan at the Conference, in 2024, the total air transport market of our country is estimated to reach 76.4 million passengers and 1.29 million tons of cargo. As of November 20, 2024, there are 245 aircraft registered in Vietnam, of which 196 aircraft are operated for commercial purposes.

The security situation related to civil aviation activities has been maintained. However, potential risks still exist. The national police force has detected and handled many cases related to the illegal purchase, storage, transportation and use of weapons and explosives. Nearly 100 suspicious transactions with signs of terrorist financing have also been detected.

The conference also warned that currently, the sabotage activities of reactionary elements, ethnic and religious extremists are still complicated. There have been cases of using anonymous emails, fake social network accounts, and fake phone numbers to make terrorist threats.

Lam Dong province currently has Lien Khuong International Airport. Civil aviation security work here is assessed to be maintained and seriously implemented, ensuring absolute safety for flights arriving and departing through Lien Khuong International Airport.
• KEY TASKS IN 2025
The conference set out a number of key tasks for 2025. In particular, it emphasized the need to continue to effectively implement Directive No. 06/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on "Improving the capacity to ensure aviation security and safety in the new situation" and Decision No. 1586/QD-UBANHK of the Chairman of the Aviation Security Committee.

Implement the motto "prevention is better than cure", strictly comply with standards and regulations on aviation security and safety; promote the combined strength of the entire political system, synchronously deploy aviation security solutions; proactively grasp the situation, control risks, and be ready to respond to illegal interference in civil aviation activities.
Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized the importance of civil aviation security, especially in the context of complicated developments in the world. The Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to continue to make efforts, improve work efficiency, and ensure absolute security and safety for civil aviation activities.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also requested the Ministry of Public Security to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and branches to urgently propose to competent authorities to amend and supplement regulations on aviation security according to the new model and organization, with the motto of absolutely not causing "rebellion or disruption" of domestic and international air transport activities, aiming to better serve the development of aviation and ensure aviation security compared to the old model and organization; closely following ICAO regulations and standards.
Ministries, sectors and localities must strengthen cyber security and data protection; evaluate and upgrade security equipment at airports in a synchronous manner; and especially increase drills to respond to emergency situations.
