A valuable experience when being chosen as the Chairman of the "Children's Parliament "
Recently, the first mock session of the “Children’s National Assembly” was held at Dien Hong Hall, National Assembly House. The session was chaired by female “Chair” Dang Cat Tien, a student of class 9/3, Thai Nguyen Secondary School, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province.
Cat Tien is one of three team members representing Khanh Hoa province to participate in this mock session. With her own ability and efforts, Cat Tien has excelled over other child delegates in the interview rounds and was chosen as the President of the “Children’s National Assembly”.
Delighted to have successfully completed the assigned task, Cat Tien shared that she felt lucky to have participated in the mock session. “I am very honored and proud to be entrusted with the role of National Assembly Chairwoman. This is a valuable experience for me,” Tien said.

For the first time participating in a large-scale activity with the participation of Party and State leaders, Cat Tien confidently demonstrated the assigned role, successfully chairing the meeting with many opinions from child delegates revolving around two topics: "Prevention of accidents, injuries, violence, and child abuse" and "Protecting children to interact healthily and creatively in the online environment".
According to Cat Tien, each child National Assembly delegate in this session carries the responsibility of representing the voice and aspirations of children in the locality and the whole country. For her, with the role of "Chairman" assigned, that responsibility is even higher. That is what has motivated her to prepare carefully for the contents related to children, the guidelines, policies, and laws of the Party, State, National Assembly, and Government in implementing children's rights, and the Law on Children. At the same time, she has also proactively researched and learned about the current situation of children. From there, she can meet the requirements and provide comments and solutions to answer the questions of the child delegates in the session.
From the knowledge learned and cultivated during her life and study, Cat Tien realized that there are still many issues affecting children, especially in the online environment. Therefore, she is more determined to prepare carefully to bring practical and relevant issues to the meeting. From there, the child delegates will propose effective recommendations and solutions to meet the needs and aspirations of children on the two above topics.

During the group discussion, Cat Tien proposed the idea of improving and enhancing the quality of content in each lesson when promoting skills to children. In addition, she also believes that it is necessary to "use technology to control technology", that is, it is necessary to apply software and applications to block and filter harmful information. According to her, there are many such applications but not many people know about them. Therefore, communication work needs to be promoted more so that more children, parents, families , and schools know about them.
To be able to confidently and boldly present at the mock session, Cat Tien practiced a lot. In particular, she reviewed the official National Assembly sessions, the demeanor of the leaders at the session; practiced, adjusted the volume, the way to pause, and pronounce appropriately... In addition to school, teachers, friends, agencies, and units, her family always supported and accompanied her in all activities. That helped her to be confident and perform well in the assigned role.
“The participants in the mock session were not only good and talented, but also very friendly and sociable. I learned a lot from them. We had fun together and exchanged useful knowledge. That is what made me feel very happy after this trip,” Cat Tien shared.
