The draft Project on Preserving and Promoting the Intangible Cultural Heritage Values of “Cham Pottery Art” until 2028 and the following years (referred to as the Project) was assigned to the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts in Ho Chi Minh City as the consulting unit.

The draft project includes 2 phases: Phase 1, removing the heritage "Cham pottery art" from the risk of needing urgent protection (2025-2028) and phase 2, registering " Cham pottery art " as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity (from 2028 and the following years), with an estimated total implementation cost of more than 205 billion VND from the central and local budgets and socialization, mobilizing domestic and international organizations.

According to Vice Chairman of Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Long Bien, in addition to the goal of registering the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Project needs to aim at socio -economic development, in which cultural heritage subjects must enjoy the fruits of their own cultural practices; at the same time, aim at a sustainable conservation system, helping "Cham pottery art" not only survive but also develop in a modern context, maintaining the unique cultural values and cultural diversity of Vietnam.

Therefore, the consulting unit needs to coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a workshop to collect comments from agencies, units, localities, scientists and researchers on Cham culture . In particular, focusing on specific mechanisms and policies for developing craft villages as well as diverging and mobilizing reasonable resources for each decisive stage, especially the 2025-2026 period.

For Ninh Phuoc district, urgently mobilize social resources to complete infrastructure items, as a premise to complete component projects when the project is approved and implemented.
