4-star OCOP products in 2023 - gifts from nature

In 2023, in the context of economic difficulties, the agricultural sector continues to affirm its role as a pillar of the economy. Along with positive signals from agricultural exports, many OCOP products of the province have affirmed their brands in the market. To date, the whole province has 158 3-star and 4-star OCOP products. Notably, among the 8 new products of 6 entities classified and evaluated in 2023 to meet 4-star standards, all are typical agricultural products of the province, through creativity and application of modern technology, they have become quality products, imbued with national cultural identity.

1. Yen Thuy green tea buds

Yen Thuy - Hoa Binh green tea products are created by Hoa Binh 2/9 Company Limited. With a concentrated tea production area of over 730 hectares in the districts of Luong Son, Yen Thuy, Lac Thuy, 2/9 Company Limited is the core of developing the tea area of Hoa Binh province. Yen Thuy green tea is one of the outstanding products with a special flavor, known by many people. The special feature when enjoying this green tea is the rich tea flavor, sweet and astringent, bright yellow color mixed with natural aroma.

2. Gymnema Sylvestre extract

Mamigo standardized Gymnema Sylvestre extract is a collaborative research product between Luong Son Medicinal Herbs Cooperative and DKPharma, applying the results of a Ministry of Health-level scientific research project, code 2018-99-1161/KQNC. Standardized Gymnema Sylvestre is grown in a medicinal herb area selected from standard varieties to cultivation and harvesting processes according to regulations of the World Health Organization. Modern extraction technology at Luong Son Cooperative is closed, high efficiency helps optimize and standardize the content of active ingredients, ensuring the best quality to consumers.

3. Thuy Bach essential oil and incense product duo

Thuy Bach essential oil and Thuy Bach incense are researched and produced by Bach Viet Hoa Binh Cooperative according to a closed process with modern, automatic machinery and completely natural ingredients from green cypress trees in the rocky mountains of Da Bac highland district. With a growing area of over 22 hectares, the Cooperative achieves an annual output of pruning and purchasing from 30 - 50 tons. With a gentle, airy and refreshing aroma, Thuy Bach essential oil helps reduce stress, fatigue, treat colds, headaches, joint diseases, treat liver and kidney problems, insomnia, and detoxify the body. Thuy Bach incense includes incense sticks, incense buds, and incense coils produced by skilled workers on modern machinery lines to produce products that meet quality standards and are safe for users.

4. The duo of fresh bamboo shoots and fresh bamboo shoots of Kim Boi Joint Stock Company

Fresh bamboo shoots and fresh bamboo shoots are familiar foods for families and can be processed into many delicious dishes. Kim Boi fresh bamboo shoots are harvested from bamboo shoot growing areas in the province, mainly concentrated in Kim Boi and Lac Thuy districts. Fresh bamboo shoots that meet standards and sizes are selected and put into production. After being harvested, the company's workers carry out steps in a closed process according to ISO 22000:2018 standards from trimming, shaping, soaking in a solution of boiled water, salt and citric acid... After that, the bamboo shoots are boiled, sterilized and vacuum-packed, the packaging is sterilized, ensuring food safety standards of the EU market. In particular, during the production process, the product does not use toxic preservatives, so it is very safe for the health of users.

5. Duo of products: Yen Thuong sticky rice wine and sugarcane wine

Inspired by the epic poem "De dat - De nuoc" which still preserves the unique way of making wine yeast of the ancient Muong people, Thach Yen Cooperative has researched and produced leaf yeast, Muong ethnic leaf yeast wine using a wooden steamer made of tortoise shell and a copper pot according to ancient traditions. One of the unique products made from ancient herbal leaf yeast and traditional wine making methods is Yen Thuong sticky rice wine from the main ingredient of traditional sticky rice of Thach Yen, Cao Phong. In addition, from the specialty of sticky rice combined with white sugarcane based on the principle of fermenting wine 1 rice/10 sugarcane juice and distilling it using traditional techniques, Thach Yen Cooperative has produced high-quality sugarcane wine. After being produced, the wine products are completely made from natural leaf yeast, carefully aged in earthenware jars for more than three months before being delivered to consumers.

6. Kim Boi mineral water products

Over many years of formation and development, Kim Boi Mineral Water Joint Stock Company is proud of its history. The company has focused on investing in facilities, building new factories and purchasing machinery and equipment, improving product designs to suit market needs. Over the years, the company has been the largest unit in the district producing and supplying Kim Boi mineral water with a capacity of 10 million bottles per year. The company's production process has met ISO 22000:2018 standards, recognized as a unit with a good food safety and hygiene management system and ensuring the provision of safe, quality food products to consumers. Up to now, products under the Kim Boi natural mineral water brand have affirmed their position in the domestic and foreign markets.
