What is special about 5-star OCOP products? How do products achieve this certification? This is a concern of many individuals and businesses.

Realizing the potential of the tourism market, in 2016, the company began to promote the production of specialty products to serve tourists. After a period of research, Quy Thu launched the baked coconut cake product. With its unique flavor and reasonable price, the product was quickly accepted. "Each product package costs from 15 - 20 thousand VND, with beautiful designs, very suitable as gifts" - Ms. Thu shared.

In 2020, Quy Thu invested more than 3 billion VND in machinery, completing a closed production process. In addition to ensuring domestic food safety standards, the product also achieved international certifications such as HACCP, FDA (USA) and HALAL (West Asian countries), affirming its quality and export potential.

From Vietnam's national treasure

The ginseng growing area meets GACP-WHO standards, the factory produces according to GMP and FDA standards, ensuring stable and consistent quality.

Currently, SAPHRATON is distributed nationwide, achieving 5-star OCOP certification - affirming the quality meets export standards. However, the fact that Ngoc Linh ginseng is on the list of endangered species under the CITES Convention is causing obstacles in completing export documents. Meanwhile, in the raw material area of ​​Sam Sam, Ngoc Linh ginseng has been propagated and planted on nearly 10 hectares.

It is the barrier from CITES that prevents Ngoc Linh ginseng products from being exported. After many petitions, the Vietnamese authorities have requested CITES to review the management group for this medicinal herb. We are waiting for consensus to expand the international market for SAPHRATON as well as related products.

Products that meet the national OCOP standards are certified by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and are allowed to use the national OCOP logo and stamp on packaging, labels and promotional materials. The classification results are valid for 36 months from the date of recognition.
