After the underground excavation of the Hanoi metro line Nhon - Hanoi station, the houses of residents in lane 7 Giang Van Minh, Kim Ma ward (Ba Dinh, Hanoi) appeared with many cracks, many houses were even cracked open.
Regarding the above incident, MRB representative said that during the construction of the tunnel section of the Hanoi City Pilot Urban Railway Project, Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station section, the Project used a modern geotechnical monitoring system to closely monitor ground movement and subsidence. The monitoring data was not only processed at the field office but also carefully analyzed at the contractor's headquarters in Italy and Korea.
On February 27, 2025, data showed that some points had subsidence exceeding the warning threshold, so according to the highest safety principle, the Project decided to relocate 11 additional houses in lane 7, Giang Van Minh street. Previously, 4 households had been temporarily relocated according to the Project's initial plan.
The project will support each household with a total of 16 million VND to ensure a stable life during the temporary residence period. The households all agree with the project's support policy and coordinate closely to create conditions for the project to implement construction to ensure progress.
During the time the households are temporarily housed, the Project will continue to conduct inspections, assessments and find solutions to reinforce the ground to ensure the safety of related structures. This process is expected to last about 1 month.
The project is committed to continuing to closely monitor the situation, listen to public opinions, and coordinate with relevant parties to ensure safety and transparency in the incident handling process. The project looks forward to receiving the support and cooperation of the public during this temporary period.
