Many district police leaders receive new assignments after dissolution

After the district-level police were dissolved, most of the leaders of this level of police in Nam Dinh were transferred and appointed as department-level leaders of the provincial police.


On the morning of March 1, Nam Dinh Provincial Police held a ceremony to announce decisions on organizational structure and personnel arrangement and assignment according to Project 25-DA/DUCA dated January 11, 2025 of the Central Public Security Party Committee on "Continuing to arrange and streamline the organization of the local Public Security apparatus to operate effectively and efficiently, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new period".

The ceremony was attended by Nam Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Dang Khanh Toan and leaders of the Provincial People's Committee.

According to the announced decisions, from March 1, the Minister of Public Security decided to dissolve 9 district-level police units and affiliated organizations in Nam Dinh province, including Nam Dinh City Police, Police of Nam Truc, Vu Ban, Y Yen, Xuan Truong, Nghia Hung, Hai Hau, Giao Thuy, and Truc Ninh districts.

Also according to the decision of the Minister of Public Security, the organization and apparatus of Nam Dinh Provincial Police after the arrangement has 27 subordinate professional units.

On this occasion, the Director of Nam Dinh Provincial Police also issued a decision to transfer and appoint 64 officers as heads and deputy heads of department-level units under the Provincial Police, and heads of commune-level police.

In particular, 8 officers who were previously the Chief of Nam Dinh City Police, Nam Truc, Vu Ban, Xuan Truong, Nghia Hung, Hai Hau, Giao Thuy, and Truc Ninh districts were transferred and appointed to lead department-level units under the Provincial Police (the Chief of Y Yen District Police had previously retired early according to his wishes).

Similarly, officers who were previously Deputy Chiefs of Police in 9 districts and cities in the province were also transferred and appointed as leaders of department-level units under the provincial police, most of them holding the position of Deputy Chief of Department, a few were transferred to work as Chiefs of Commune-level Police in some communes and towns in the province. The remaining officers and soldiers who previously worked at the district-level police were mostly transferred to work at the commune-level police in the province.

Meanwhile, many leaders of departments under the Provincial Police were also assigned by the Provincial Police Director to take on new positions at department-level units of the Provincial Police.

Previously, Dai Doan Ket Online reported that in the process of streamlining the apparatus, Nam Dinh Provincial Police had 13 leaders of the police at the department and district levels voluntarily apply for early retirement; 55 leaders and commanders volunteered to take lower positions to facilitate the work of streamlining the apparatus.

At the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Huu Manh, Director of Nam Dinh Provincial Police, said that from 0:00 on March 1, Nam Dinh Provincial Police have simultaneously deployed their tasks under the new organizational structure, when there is no longer a district-level police force.
