The era of prosperity and happiness

On November 15, the Central Party Committee's Scientific Council coordinated with the Editorial Board of the Communist Magazine to organize a national scientific conference: "New era, the era of the Vietnamese people's rise - Theoretical and practical issues".

Attending the workshop were: Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies Lai Xuan Mon; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh; Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine Le Hai Binh; Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front To Thi Bich Chau.

This is the first national scientific conference on the new era, the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Central Party Agencies Lai Xuan Mon emphasized that General Secretary To Lam, in his recent important articles and speeches, has mentioned the issue of a new era, an era of rising up of the Vietnamese nation. General Secretary To Lam's thoughts were unanimously affirmed by the 10th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee. This is a new policy and orientation, with strategic vision for national development, of great political significance, which needs to be included in the 14th National Congress Documents, thoroughly understood by the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, and implemented with high political determination.

Mr. Mon summarized that in our country, the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1930 led to the glorious victory of the August Revolution in 1945, opening a new era - the glorious Ho Chi Minh era, starting the era of independence and freedom. From 1945 to 1975, our entire Party, people and army focused on implementing two major contents of the first era of the Vietnamese revolution: winning and maintaining independence and freedom for the Fatherland and preparing the initial premise for the second era.

In 1975, the country was unified, the whole country moved towards socialism, creating a solid premise for 1986, when the 6th Party Congress initiated the renovation process, the country entered the second era - the era of unification and renovation.

Over the past 40 years, our entire Party, people and army have resolutely and drastically carried out the renovation process, achieving great and historic achievements. The goals and major contents of the era of unification and renovation have been basically completed, allowing our country to enter the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise - the third era: the era of prosperity and happiness.

According to Mr. Mon, at the time of the 14th Congress, the country's foundation, potential, position and international prestige allow and require our country to have a breakthrough development, accelerate to develop quickly, strongly and sustainably. This is an objective requirement, a step in accordance with the laws of the Vietnamese revolution, a development to a new level, a new level of national independence and socialism.

“Humanity is entering a new period of rapid development, with many great and fundamental changes, with many new challenges and new opportunities for development. In particular, the Fourth Industrial Revolution with its breakthrough achievements has created both great challenges and unprecedented opportunities for development. Any country that can take advantage of the achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution can create breakthrough development,” said Mr. Mon, and expressed: “This is the historical starting point in the development process, the country is entering a new era, the era of the Vietnamese people's rise. Thus, Vietnam entering an era of breakthrough development, starting from the 14th National Congress, is in accordance with the objective laws of the Vietnamese revolution and the trend of the times.”

To achieve the set goals and requirements, Mr. Mon suggested that experts and scientists focus on clarifying how theoretical and ideological work needs to be conducted with new thinking and new approaches, both to inherit the correct thinking and experience that has been accumulated, and to strongly innovate, to approach and absorb new thinking and new development trends of the times with the spirit of progressing with the times. Strongly innovating thinking is the first step with breakthrough significance.

Besides, how should we continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of leadership and governance of the Party in the new era, the era of the Vietnamese people's rise, to meet the very high requirements of the new era?

“How to build a streamlined organizational apparatus of Party, State, Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations that operates effectively and efficiently? How to strongly innovate and improve the quality of leaders and managers at all levels, especially at the strategic level, to be truly clean, with enough capacity, qualifications, intelligence, and courage to design and lead cadres, party members, and people into a new era, an era of the Vietnamese nation's rise?” - Mr. Mon raised the issue.

Regarding the digital transformation revolution, Mr. Mon suggested that it is necessary to clarify what is the digital production method?, what is the correlation between the digital production method with the knowledge economy and the socialist production method?.

Referring to the issue of fighting waste as General Secretary To Lam pointed out, "to seize opportunities, push back challenges, strongly increase resources to care for the people, enrich the country in the new revolutionary period, build a bright future; the work of preventing and fighting waste needs to be implemented drastically, synchronously with the prevention and fighting of corruption and negativity", Mr. Mon noted the need to clarify the dialectical relationship between preventing and fighting corruption and negativity with fighting waste and strong enough solutions to achieve high results.
