YenBai - On the morning of March 1, the People's Committee of Yen Binh district held a ceremony to announce the Decision of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province recognizing Dai Dong commune as a model new rural area (NTM) in 2024. Attending the ceremony were comrade Ngo Hanh Phuc - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the province, Yen Binh district and a large number of local people.

After many years of building a new rural area, the commune has made strong changes. In 2020, it achieved the new rural standard. In 2022, it completed the advanced new rural area (reaching the target 3 years ahead of the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term) and by 2024, it officially reached the target of a model new rural area with outstanding culture.
The highlight in the process of building a model new rural area in Dai Dong is sustainable economic development. The commune has planned a production forest area with more than 2,000 hectares certified by FSC, formed 14 large-scale livestock farms, built 32 cooperatives and 3 production cooperatives... Thanks to that, the average income per capita reached 60.69 million VND/year, the multidimensional poverty rate decreased to 2.41%.
In particular, the "smart village" model in Huong Ly village with a modern loudspeaker system and free wifi helps people access information quickly and conveniently. In addition, 5/5 villages have continuously achieved the title of "Cultural Residential Area" in the past 5 years, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people.
Comrade Ngo Hanh Phuc - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement to build model new rural areas.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Hanh Phuc emphasized that Dai Dong commune achieving the model new rural standard is not only the pride of local people, but also a driving force to promote the new rural construction movement throughout the province.
He suggested that the commune continue to promote its achievements, exploit its potential to the fullest, mobilize all resources, especially internal resources; seek support from superiors and businesses to promote socio-economic development. In addition, the commune needs to promote the application of high technology in agricultural production, transform the economic structure towards concentrated, high-quality and sustainable goods, associated with environmental protection.
"Economic development must go hand in hand with preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. Dai Dong needs to continue to preserve local identity, build a civilized and modern lifestyle without losing the unique features of the homeland." - Comrade Ngo Hanh Phuc emphasized.
Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee Tran Viet Quy presented flowers to congratulate Dai Dong commune.
He also noted the need to strengthen cooperation, expand cooperative groups and cooperatives, improve the effectiveness of the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program; focus on investing in essential infrastructure, taking care of people's lives, promoting the movement to build a cultural life, maintaining security and order, improving the capacity of commune-level cadres and civil servants...
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the departments, branches and sectors of the province and Yen Binh district to continue to pay attention and support Dai Dong commune to maintain and improve the quality of the model NTM criteria. At the same time, it is necessary to accelerate the roadmap to build Yen Binh district to meet the advanced NTM standards by 2029, aiming at the goal of sustainable development and improving the quality of life for the people.
On this occasion, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the model new rural construction movement received certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee Chairman and certificates of merit from the District People's Committee.
