YenBai - The weather is in the transitional period, causing the resistance of livestock to decrease. This is a favorable condition for livestock diseases to arise and spread quickly. However, thanks to the promotion of propaganda and guidance for livestock farmers to implement disease prevention measures; vaccination, etc., the livestock of Au Lau commune, Yen Bai city has been maintained and developed stably, without major epidemics occurring.

The model of raising breeding sows according to a closed process of Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh's family, Thanh Giang village, Au Lau commune. With a scale of 60 breeding sows, the barn system was built methodically and scientifically by Mr. Thanh. Including a sow care area, a piglet care area, a biogas tank to treat manure and wastewater. The breeding area is built airy, regularly cleaned, sprayed with disinfectants, isolated from the surrounding environment; equipped with exhaust fans, automatic feeding and drinking troughs, and a temperature control system to keep the barn temperature stable. Thereby, helping the pigs grow stably, requiring less care and limiting diseases. The livestock is healthy, bringing in a profit of about 800 million VND/year for the family.

For Mr. Pham Van Manh's family, in order for the livestock to grow and develop stably, especially during the changing seasons, he has actively participated in short-term veterinary courses and watched instructions on mass media. Paying special attention to the input of breeding stock, which must have a clear origin, Mr. Manh regularly checks and monitors the livestock, cleans the barn to ensure it is dry and clean; and covers the barn to ensure it is warm enough during days of changing weather. Thanks to this, his family's pig herd has developed relatively stably over the years.

Considered one of the localities with a good livestock development movement, Au Lau commune currently has a total main herd of nearly 2,500 cattle and 12,000 poultry. In recent years, thanks to the synchronous and drastic implementation of many solutions in disease prevention and control in livestock and poultry, the number of livestock in Au Lau commune has grown day by day, bringing a stable source of income to farmers.

To maintain and develop livestock, the commune continues to propagate and guide people to apply technical processes in livestock farming; effectively implement disease prevention measures, such as: cleaning barns, sprinkling lime powder, spraying disinfectants; implementing a reasonable nutritional regimen for livestock; and treating livestock waste to protect the environment.

Along with that, fully implement vaccination campaigns for livestock as planned, strengthen strict control over the transportation of animals and animal products in and out of the area; resolutely and strictly handle cases of trading, transporting, and trading animals and animal products that do not comply with legal regulations that may be a source of disease transmission.

Currently, the weather is complicated, creating favorable conditions for livestock diseases to arise and spread quickly. Therefore, Au Lau commune will continue to direct and guide livestock households in the area to carry out vaccination work well; regularly monitor the situation of seasonal diseases to proactively handle them, contributing to minimizing damage, ensuring stable and sustainable development of livestock, bringing efficiency and high economic value.
