The Center for Publishing and Education Research (IPER) in collaboration with Dan Tri Publishing House published the book Lecture Hall Culture - A Handbook for Studying at University, by the group of authors Jean Brick, Maria Herke and Deanna Wong.
As the name suggests, the book is a useful and necessary handbook to help students have an overview of university culture.
At the same time, the book also provides knowledge about university learning skills: listening skills, reading skills, group work/participation in practice/seminars, critical thinking, exploiting knowledge sources, essay writing skills, expressing personality in presenting learning content...

The book consists of 25 chapters, divided into 5 parts.
Part 1 - Introduction to university learning culture : The authors help readers (especially new students) get the most general overview of the university environment, basic concepts in the classroom (lecturers, students, courses, course structure, curriculum), and the most important skill - self-study.
Part 2 - Studying at university : The book provides all the skills that students need to practice to achieve the best learning results: listening to lectures, reading, working in groups...
Part 3 - Cultivating thinking and skills : The group of authors analyzes the thinking that helps students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the classroom.
Part 4 - Expressing your own voice and referring to the voices of other authors : Each type of text in the classroom will have different characteristics. The authors will answer the question: How to highlight personal personality in the text, while ensuring that the text's characteristics are correctly expressed?
Part 5 - Academic Writing : Writing is not only a skill but also an important content in the classroom. In each course, students have to write a final essay, thesis/project, etc. So what is the key to good writing?
After its release, Lecture Hall Culture received much attention and recommendations from prestigious lecturers at many universities in Vietnam: Hanoi Pedagogical University, Hanoi National University, Academy of Management and Education,...
