In the program "Bringing school to candidates" organized by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper recently, Dr. Phan Thi Cam Giang, Head of Psychology Department at Saigon International University, said that the alarming situation today is that many students plan their future goals in a grand way but lack a specific, suitable, and scientific review roadmap. This leads to the situation of "talking well but doing poorly".

Build a scientific study roadmap

Dr. Giang said that anxiety before exams is natural, this is "everyone's problem", even parents are equally stressed. To relieve psychological pressure and study effectively, Dr. Giang suggests that students:

- Identify your strengths and weaknesses

- Determine specific goals (clearly distinguish between passing the university entrance exam and passing the university entrance exam into the right major/school that you love)

- Develop a review plan for the exam each week and each month.

- Build a diet and rest time.

According to this expert, building an effective and scientific review roadmap is very necessary. However, many students need to be determined and seriously implement it, avoiding the situation of "just remaining on paper".

"Students should not take on too many goals and tasks at the same time. The most obvious situation is that when it's time to study for one subject, they take out homework from another subject to practice for the exam. Doing one thing on top of another makes the knowledge absorption ineffective and students feel stressed," Dr. Giang pointed out.

In addition, students need to pay attention to their diet and proper rest time. There have been many cases of exhausted candidates, falling asleep in the exam room, good students but only average exam results,...

Psychology becomes a trend

Answering students' questions about career opportunities when studying psychology, Dr. Giang said that this field of study has been developing in Vietnam for about 20 years and will become a trending field of study in the near future.

Why has psychology become a "hot" major, attracting many students' attention?

In the past, this field of study was not really interested. This came from social limitations, people mainly focused on "eating well, dressing warmly". As economic and social life increasingly developed, people's needs also gradually changed, paying more attention to "eating well, dressing well" and caring services. This created a big turning point for the field of psychology.

"At Saigon International University, students majoring in psychology are required to experience all subjects related to the foundation and major of psychology; there are 8 modules taught entirely in English, creating opportunities to access foreign documents and develop foreign language skills; students complete their graduation thesis with a scientific research paper" - Dr. Giang informed.

Psychology graduates can work in many different positions such as psychological counselors, clinical psychologists, market research specialists, recruitment specialists...
