The Ministry of Public Security expects that candidates with IELTS equivalent to 5.5 or higher can participate in the combined admission exam to police schools in 2025. Last year, the required level was IELTS 7.5 for the group of early admission candidates.
Major Trieu Thanh Dat, chief specialist of the Training Department (Ministry of Public Security), said that this year, police schools will recruit students using three methods: Direct admission (for students who won first prize in the national excellent student selection exam, national science and technology exam, students in international Olympic teams); Combined consideration of assessment test scores and foreign language certificates; Combined consideration of assessment test scores and high school graduation exam scores.
What's new compared to last year is that the police school block considers combining international language certificates with assessment tests instead of school records.
With two combined admission methods, the Ministry of Public Security converts admission scores according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , without dividing quotas according to each method.
It is expected that candidates with IELTS equivalent to 5.5 or higher can participate in the combined admission process. Last year, the requirement was IELTS 7.5 for the early admission group.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Security plans to expand the combinations for candidates registering for the admission method combined with international language certificates.
According to Major Trieu Thanh Dat, these adjustments are aimed at implementing the Ministry of Public Security's policy of improving the quality of recruitment sources, ensuring that graduates are fluent in foreign languages.
Major Trieu Thanh Dat noted that since there are currently only police at ward/commune and provincial levels, the Ministry of Public Security has issued instructions for commune-level police to receive candidates' applications for admission to police schools.
Candidates register to submit their application to the ward/commune police station before April 15 and complete the application, meeting the preliminary requirements according to the instructions of the ward/commune police officer.
Regarding the assessment test of the Ministry of Public Security this year, Mr. Dat said that there will be some adjustments to suit students studying the 2018 general education program, there will be 4 test codes, an increase of 2 test codes compared to 2024.
