Binh Thanh is a commune with many unique products because this place has a tradition of intensive rice cultivation and has clams living and developing. However, in the past, people in Binh Thanh commune only cultivated rice with simple methods, without applying science and technology and without exploiting the full potential and strengths of the riverside land to improve the quality and value of products. When the cooperative participated in the One Commune One Product program, the value of the products increased and the quality of the products was focused on.

Mr. Dang Van Quang, Director of Binh Thanh Rice Trading and Service Cooperative, said: In 2021, the Cooperative focused on investing in the production of Cho Goc rice in bags for sale on the market. With the goal of having clean products, organic farming, proper care, pest control, and at the same time organizing the purchase of fresh rice, drying, preserving, and packaging the product, by 2022 the product was recognized as a 3-star OCOP product. Since then, the Cooperative has produced an average of about 50 tons of Cho Goc rice each year, with a value 1.8 - 2 times higher than before. Immediately after that, the Cooperative continued to build an OCOP product for fish sauce products by implementing standard steps, fish must be purchased in organic rice growing areas, mixed with sea salt according to traditional methods to create a delicious and unique flavor that is different from other places. As a result, in early 2024, Goc market fish sauce was recognized as a 3-star OCOP product, with a higher selling price than regular products.

Binh Dinh maintains organic rice production areas and builds OCOP products.

Binh Dinh Commune is also a famous locality in Kien Xuong District for its high rice yield and outstanding quality. Mr. Tran Thanh Son, Director of the Commune's Agricultural Service Production and Trading Cooperative, said: In addition to the tradition of producing rice seeds, in recent years the commune has planned an area of ​​14.2 hectares of organic rice with Huong Com 4 rice variety to make OCOP products. To implement the model, the Cooperative has selected the field with the best soil, the implementation process does not use toxic chemicals, controls the entire production process, ensuring cleanliness, safety and nutrition, good for the health of users. In 2024, the Cooperative purchased and packaged 35 tons of rice called Binh Dinh organic rice for sale on the market at a price of 35,000 VND/kg, 15,000 VND/kg higher than before.

In Thong Nhat commune, with the desire to preserve traditional values ​​and promote the product brand of the craft village, recently, Nam Cao Linen Weaving Cooperative has determined to build a set of linen bedding products that meet the criteria of 4-star OCOP products at the provincial level.

Ms. Luong Thanh Hanh, Director of the Cooperative, said: To keep up with market trends, the Cooperative has produced a variety of products such as linen silk, silk, ao dai, fashion dresses, silk bracelets, silk scarves... to export to foreign markets. All products are made entirely from high-quality linen fabric woven 100% with silk thread produced by the villagers themselves. In addition, the products are hand-sewn and hand-embroidered, so they have their own unique features, completely different from industrial products. Through many stages from growing mulberry, raising silkworms, spinning linen, weaving yarn, dyeing fabric... the linen bedding set has shown the most traditional cultural beauty of the linen weaving profession of the ancient Nam Cao commune. Being certified as an OCOP product not only contributes to the sustainable development of the Cooperative, increasing product value but also creates stable jobs for 200 workers in the craft village. In the coming time, the Cooperative will continue to develop new products with unique designs, striving to turn Nam Cao silk bedding sets into national 5-star OCOP products.

According to the assessment of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Kien Xuong district: In recent times, the district has promoted propaganda to localities, organizations and individuals to understand the importance and significance of the One Commune One Product program. During the implementation process, the Department coordinated with relevant agencies to support organizations and individuals to implement the criteria and complete the procedures to be recognized as OCOP products in accordance with regulations, especially promoting products on mass media, e-commerce platforms, participating in fairs and exhibitions in and outside the province. Up to now, the whole district has 19 products recognized as OCOP products. With the goal of building OCOP products based on the strengths of localities, in the coming time, Kien Xuong district will continue to promote and mobilize organizations and individuals to focus on improving product quality so that each OCOP product not only brings high economic value but also contributes to promoting and introducing the district's typical products to customers inside and outside the province, contributing to shifting the economic structure and improving people's lives.
