Train collides with truck, North-South railway paralyzed

Kinhtedothi - In the area near Hoa Duyet station, Duc Lien commune, Vu Quang district (Ha Tinh), a collision between a train and a truck occurred, paralyzing the North-South railway.


Initial information, at around 8:00 a.m. on March 1, at Km358+498 on the North-South railway through Duc Lien commune, freight train SH62 (locomotive D18E-607) moving from South to North suddenly collided with a glue truck crossing the railway.

After the collision with the truck, the locomotive and three cars of the freight train derailed, dozens of meters of track were lifted off the road; the front of the truck was severely damaged. The accident injured the freight train driver, but the truck driver was lucky to escape.

A representative of the Hoa Duyet station said that the North-South railway line through Duc Lien commune is currently paralyzed. With dozens of meters of railway derailed from the roadbed, it will take a long time to fix. The railway crossing at Km358+498 is a self-opened crossing, not licensed by the relevant authorities.
