Dense, overlapping traffic signs on many roads in Dong Nai make people angry because they obstruct vision, cause confusion and pose a potential risk of accidents.
In recent days, people in Bien Hoa City (Dong Nai Province) have reported to VietNamNet reporters about the situation of overlapping traffic signs, obstructing visibility, causing difficulty when driving and the risk of accidents.
According to records on February 28, on Nguyen Ai Quoc Street (from the provincial square to gate 2 of Bien Hoa airport), the authorities have just installed a gantry crane system and traffic signs.
However, many signs are installed overlapping - both on the gantry and on the old pillars, some signs are even less than 1 meter apart - causing information confusion.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (living in Bien Hoa City) said that every time he drives through here, he has to strain his eyes to check every sign.
“There are a ‘forest’ of signs at intersections. I have to worry about finding signs prohibiting my vehicle from entering, and also have to pay attention to other vehicles, which can easily lead to accidents,” said Mr. Hung.
The same situation also occurred at Binh Da intersection (Pham Van Thuan street, Binh Da ward). Signs prohibiting vehicles from "lining up" are placed close together, making both drivers and residents angry.
At 30/4 Park (Tan Bien Ward), in front is a sign prohibiting 5-ton trucks according to the time frame, but only about 10m away is a sign prohibiting 2-ton trucks, causing confusion for passersby.
Regarding this issue, Mr. Nguyen Phong An - Chairman of Bien Hoa City People's Committee - said that the above gantry price has just been installed by the Traffic Safety Committee of Dong Nai province, while the signs are under the management responsibility of the city.
Mr. An affirmed that he will direct relevant units to review, inspect and handle any shortcomings if they are discovered.
