Fans expressed concern when Ronaldo warned Hojlund when Portugal and Denmark met in the second leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals. Previously in the first leg, after scoring the only goal to help Denmark win, Hojlund had a "Siu" celebration, which is Ronaldo's trademark.
Sharing about celebrating right in front of Ronaldo, Hojlund said: "It's not an exaggeration to say that Ronaldo is everything to me. The love for football I feel, as well as becoming a fan of MU, all originate from him."
“I train myself based on Ronaldo’s inspiration. I do push-ups and sit-ups every day before going to bed based on him. Because I want to become a similar version of Ronaldo.”
Ronaldo was quite relaxed in response to Hojlund's compliments but did not forget to send a warning: "No problem, I understand that it is not disrespectful. Not only him but many people in the world also celebrate like that. For me, it is an honor."
“I hope I can do that celebration in front of him in the next game. That would be great, I'm glad he liked my celebration.”
Portugal will face Denmark at 2:45 a.m. on March 24. To reach the semi-finals, Ronaldo and his teammates must win by a margin of 2 goals or more.
