On the afternoon of March 24, a press conference took place before the match between Vietnam and Laos in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
Coach Kim Sang-sik is confident going into the match against Laos.
Sharing with the press, coach Kim Sang-sik said that Tien Linh has now recovered and is ready to play in the match against Laos.
“Tomorrow, Tien Linh will replace Xuan Son’s role in the attack. I have great confidence in him,” the strategist Kim revealed.
This is very good news for the Vietnam team because Tien Linh is currently the team's best striker.
Before joining the Vietnam national team, Tien Linh scored 10 goals in the 2024-2025 V-League and led the race for the Golden Boot.
In the friendly match with Cambodia on March 19, the striker from Hai Duong was only brought onto the field by coach Kim Sang-sik in the second half and did not leave any mark.
At the training session on March 21, Tien Linh suddenly suffered a relapse of his injury and it was thought he would not be able to play in the opening match of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
Also at the press conference before the match against Laos, coach Kim Sang-sik affirmed that the whole team is now very confident and ready to give their best to the fans.
“We are playing at home. The players and I are well prepared, hoping that tomorrow the team will score many goals and give a good match. The players are implementing the tactics and training well.
If I were to give a score, I would give it 90/100. This is an official qualifying match, we need to overcome our physical and mental challenges to move on,” Mr. Kim added.
According to the schedule, the match between Vietnam and Laos in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup will take place on March 25 at Binh Duong Stadium.
