Son La has consumed about 5,000 tons of strawberries.

Since the beginning of the season, Son La province has consumed about 5,000 tons of fresh strawberries, reaching nearly 60% of the year's strawberry output.

Thanks to the favorable climate and soil, Son La strawberries have large, even, juicy fruits with a rich sweetness and a distinctive delicious flavor. With an average selling price of 80,000 - 250,000 VND/kg, the value of consumed strawberries reached about 770 billion VND.

Fortunately, Son La strawberries are now available in most supermarkets, shopping malls, and wholesale markets nationwide; and are included in Vietnam Airlines meals around the world...

In addition to fresh fruit consumption, Son La strawberries are also purchased by businesses and processed into other products such as: strawberry jam, dried strawberries, strawberry syrup... thereby contributing to bringing high income to strawberry growers.

In addition, strawberry farms have become landscape highlights, attracting more domestic and international visitors to visit and travel, thereby creating jobs for hundreds of local workers.

Mr. Tran Xuan Thanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Moc Chau district, Son La province, said that the industry regularly sends officials to inspect the production organization of farmers for products enjoyed in the garden such as strawberries to ensure clean and safe production, because that is the basic factor for long-term household economic development.

Second, there are instructions and guidance for strawberry production facility owners to build a logbook to monitor the use of fertilizers, pesticides, trace the origin... to serve as a basis for inspection and examination as well as to promote and introduce to tourists the origin of their strawberries; thereby, contributing to maintaining the brand of clean Son La strawberry products.

According to statistics, Son La province has more than 740 hectares of strawberries, mainly concentrated in Mai Son district (more than 570 hectares) and Moc Chau district (106 hectares), Yen Chau district (more than 53 hectares).... From being an experimental crop, Son La strawberries have now become a commodity that is welcomed and highly appreciated by the market.
