Vietnam General Confederation of Labor agrees to 9 days off for Lunar New Year 2025

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor agrees with the Lunar New Year holiday plan proposed by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to last 9 days.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has just responded to the dispatch of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs on the proposal for Lunar New Year holidays, National Day holidays and some other holidays in 2025.
According to the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule starts from January 25, 2025 to February 2, 2025.
Accordingly, for the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule for civil servants and public employees, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor agreed to a 9-day holiday from January 25, 2025 (December 26, Giap Thin year) to February 2, 2025 (January 5, At Ty year). Regarding the National Day holiday, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also agreed to a 2-day holiday, including 1 day immediately before September 2. Thus, civil servants and public employees will have 4 consecutive days off on this occasion, from August 30, 2025 to September 2, 2025. For the April 30 and May 1 International Labor Day holidays, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor agreed to a 5-day holiday, from April 30, 2025 to May 4, 2025. According to this plan, the normal working day (May 2, 2025) will be swapped to Saturday, April 26, 2025. In addition to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Transport have also sent official dispatches to give their opinions on the Lunar New Year holiday and some holidays in 2025. These agencies all agree with the Lunar New Year holiday plan as proposed by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
