Foreign Language Secondary School (University of Foreign Languages - Vietnam National University, Hanoi) has just announced its enrollment plan for grade 6 for the 2025-2026 school year. This year, the school plans to enroll 150 students (25 students/class). The school will divide the enrollment into 2 forms: direct enrollment and application enrollment.

Conditions for candidates participating in direct admission according to the school's criteria are as follows: Candidates must be Vietnamese nationals (maximum 12 students), have completed primary school, and have achieved good results in the primary school years or higher. In particular, candidates must meet one of four conditions:
- Gold Medal in Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO).
- First prize in the primary school section of the UPU letter writing competition for the past two years.
- National chess gold medal for primary school or international chess tournament for the 2024-2025 school year.
- First prize or individual gold medal in national and international art and sports competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or prestigious foreign organizations, school year 2024-2025.
For candidates with foreign nationality (maximum 6 students), Vietnamese language proficiency equivalent to level 3, good academic performance or higher, and completion of primary school is required.
The school notes that students who apply for direct admission will be interviewed by the admissions board to better understand their characteristics, abilities, and suitability for the school's program. The interview is scheduled for June 15.
For admission by application , the school announced that it will accept online applications from June 6 to 5:00 p.m. on June 12 with a fee of VND 90,000/application. The school plans to announce the admission results on Monday, June 25 and start school on June 29.
The calculation of admission scores is as follows: Admission scores = Conversion scores of 5 years of primary school results + PSA composite competency assessment score. In which, the maximum conversion score of educational results is 20 points and the maximum PSA composite competency assessment score is 100 points.
- Educational results of the school year achieved excellent completion: 4.0 points/school year.
- Educational results of the school year are at the level of good completion: 3.0 points/school year.
- Educational results of the school year reaching completion level: 1.0 point/school year.
- Educational results of the school year reaching the level of Incomplete: No points will be counted.

The PSA exam consists of three parts: Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Vietnamese and English. The first two parts each have 15 questions - 25 points, the English part has 30 questions - 50 points. The content of the questions is in the general education program, focusing on grades 4-5. All in 70 minutes.
In previous years, the school recruited 100 - 150 students but received up to 3,000 applications, with a competition ratio of 1/30 - making it one of the hottest middle schools in Hanoi.
