The ST4SD project is funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), co-implemented by the Swiss Association for International Cooperation (Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation) Vietnam and the Center for Rural Economic Development (CRED) in the period 2023-2027, with the aim of developing Vietnam's tourism industry more sustainably and comprehensively.
The highlight of the Swiss EHT Program is the provision of high-quality teaching content and methods thanks to the transfer of Swiss expertise and values from EHL - the world's leading university in tourism, restaurant and hotel management in Switzerland - to training institutions in Vietnam.
The program is for middle and senior managers, as well as experienced employees who want to move towards management positions in the context of Vietnam's shortage of leaders and senior managers in the tourism and hotel management industry.
The leadership team will integrate sustainable tourism activities into business operations and train new employees on sustainability standards, thereby contributing to improving the quality of Vietnam's tourism human resources.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Vietnam Thomas Gass expressed his belief that sharing Switzerland's expertise and long-standing experience in tourism, restaurant, and hotel training will help Vietnam's tourism industry continue to develop sustainably and achieve high quality.
“In particular, the Swiss EHT program will equip future leaders and managers of this industry in Vietnam with useful tools, helping them deliver excellent service while ensuring commitments to sustainable development,” Mr. Thomas Gass emphasized.

EHL Senior Consultant JeanBaptiste Berguerand shares: The human-centered philosophy is the basis of the Swiss EHT program. EHL’s unique approach is rooted in experiential learning, seamlessly combining theory and practice with the development of both soft and hard skills.
During the pilot phase, four domestic institutions with different types of training were selected to implement the program, namely: National Economics University (Hanoi), IBH Hospitality Training Academy (Da Nang), Van Lang University, Saigon Tourism College (Ho Chi Minh City).
After practicing teaching under the guidance of Mr. JeanBaptiste Berguerand, representatives of the 4 training institutions will receive EHL certification and become trainers of the Swiss EHT Program in Vietnam.
Training facilities are expected to launch the first training course in the fourth quarter of 2024 with 15-20 students per class.
