On the afternoon of April 15, the Hai Phong City People's Council held the 15th session (special session) of the 16th term, 2021 - 2026. One of the most anticipated contents approved by the Hai Phong City People's Council is the Master Plan for the new urban area of Thuy Nguyen until 2045. The plan aims to concretize the strategies and development orientations of Hai Phong City; effectively promote historical, landscape, environmental, and cultural values, ensure national defense and security; build and develop Thuy Nguyen urban area into a civilized, modern urban area, towards an international city, a smart ecological city.
According to Decision No. 1388/QD-TTg dated November 16, 2023 of the Prime Minister approving the Master Plan for the new urban area of Thuy Nguyen, Hai Phong City until 2045, the new urban area of Thuy Nguyen will be a type III urban area by 2025, aiming to become a type II urban area by 2035 with the model of a city under Hai Phong City.
