Happy gifts for border people at the end of the year

Gifts and scholarships for the elderly and students in difficult circumstances are a great encouragement to people in the Gia Lai border area at the end of the year.

On December 21, hundreds of people from Ia Lau commune (Chu Prong district, Gia Lai province), from the elderly to children, eagerly came to Le Dinh Chinh Secondary School to receive loving gifts at the end of the year at the "Warm Winter - Loving Spring" Program in 2024.

The program "Warm Winter - Loving Spring" in 2024 was organized by the Provincial Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Union of Gia Lai province in coordination with the Youth Social Work Center under the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, Thanh Nien Newspaper, and Hung Vuong Gia Lai Hospital.

Attending the program on behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Han - Member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, Director of the Youth Social Work Center.

On the Gia Lai side, there were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors; the Provincial Border Guard Command; leaders of Chu Prong district; and leaders of Hung Vuong Hospital.

The program is one of the meaningful and practical activities of Gia Lai province's youth to celebrate the success of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024-2029, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) ; respond to the program "Winter Volunteer" in 2024 and "Spring Volunteer" in 2025.

This is also an activity to promote the spirit of mutual love, join hands to help children and people in disadvantaged areas, ethnic minority areas in health care; improve material and spiritual life; at the same time demonstrate the responsibility of the Youth Union - Association at all levels, agencies, units, enterprises, philanthropists in supporting and sharing difficulties with the people of the province.

The program aims to promote the spirit of mutual love and solidarity, joining hands to help children and people in difficult areas.

At the program, the units presented many gifts in cash as well as necessities, and booths with a total program resource of more than 600 million VND.

Of which, the Youth Social Work Center supported 50 gifts for children in difficult circumstances, each gift worth 500,000 VND and 300 gifts of necessities for people in difficult circumstances, each gift worth 300,000 VND and 500 warm clothes for children.

Youth Social Work Center, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Social Work Center and the Loving Bus Social Work Club supported a “ Loving Bus - 0 VND Booth” with a budget of 200 million VND.

The Youth Social Work Center and Thanh Nien Newspaper supported 200 copies of the book “Social Work in My Heart” to Youth Union and Association officials in Gia Lai province. Thanh Nien Newspaper and Nam An Cosmetic Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City supported 50 scholarships for 50 disadvantaged children, each worth 1 million VND. Hung Vuong Gia Lai Hospital supported free medical examination and medicine for 300 disadvantaged people, with a total cost of 30 million VND.

At the program, the units presented many gifts in cash as well as necessities, and booths with a total program resource of more than 600 million VND.

Receiving a scholarship from the Organizing Committee, Duong Thi Ngoc Anh (Nung ethnic, class 8C - Le Dinh Chinh Secondary School) shared: "I am very happy to receive a scholarship from you today. This is a great encouragement to help me try harder in my studies. I promise to be a good student and study well to be worthy of the award I have received."
