Create a unique style
Once known as the “Capital of Mulberry”, My Duc district has maintained and developed the traditional silk weaving craft quite strongly. The products of artisans in this land are not only unique but also increasingly improved to suit consumer tastes.
Notable among them is the self-woven silk blanket product of My Duc Mulberry Silk Company Limited (My Duc district). This is a product that has been awarded the 5-star OCOP certificate by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
Sharing the same great honor with My Duc Silk Company Limited is Tan Thinh Ceramic Production and Trading Cooperative (Bat Trang Commune, Gia Lam District). The Suoi Ngoc ceramic products of this cooperative are also highly appreciated for their sophistication.
Product manufacturing at Quang Vinh Ceramics Company Limited (Gia Lam district, Hanoi).
Director of Tan Thinh Ceramic Production and Trading Cooperative Tran Duc Tan shared that the unit has 20 members, who are artisans and skilled workers of Bat Trang ceramic village. Each member of the cooperative specializes in a different product line, now joining hands to develop the brand.
“Being evaluated and classified as a 5-star OCOP is a great honor for the cooperative’s Suoi Ngoc ceramic products. This is an important premise for us to expand our advertising and trade promotion opportunities…” - Mr. Tran Duc Tan emphasized.
Previously, Quang Vinh Ceramics Company Limited (Bat Trang Commune, Gia Lam District) had 4 products certified as 5-star OCOP by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment including: "Red lotus ceramic bowl and plate set", "Swallow and lotus ceramic bowl and plate set", "Dragon and phoenix ceramic bowl and plate set" and "Swallow and lotus ceramic tea set". These are also the first 4 5-star OCOP products of Hanoi.
The above 5-star rated OCOP products all combine two elements of craft and technology, creating uniqueness and high aesthetics. Not only that, in each product, the subjects skillfully convey the cultural features of the Vietnamese people, such as the image of lotus, dragon, phoenix, swallow..., helping the product reach perfection.
Opportunity to access world markets
The unique and regional characteristics help Hanoi's 5-star OCOP products to be highly appreciated. After being recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the products have better opportunities to promote and consume thanks to access to markets that require high standards.
Artisan Phan Thi Thuan - Director of My Duc Silk Company Limited, said that on average, the company produces thousands of self-woven silk blankets each year. After being recognized as an OCOP product, consumers have become more aware of silk blankets.
“Recently, the company’s products have received attention from Hanoi City, creating favorable conditions for participation in promotion and introduction at many fairs and product weeks. Through trade promotion programs, we have connected with potential partners…” - Artisan Phan Thi Thuan shared.
Meanwhile, Director of Quang Vinh Ceramics Co., Ltd. Ha Thi Vinh acknowledged that the product being evaluated and classified as 5 stars is a great honor. This can be considered a "passport" for businesses to consolidate and develop product brands in domestic and foreign markets.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam - Chairman of the Central Council for Evaluation and Classification of OCOP products, assessed that Hanoi's 5-star OCOP products are increasingly unique, with good quality and diverse designs. In addition, the products are also oriented to develop in line with market demand.
However, Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam said that with the potential and advantages of Hanoi, the number of 5-star OCOP products is still modest. Therefore, he suggested that the city continue to pay attention to and support entities to complete their dossiers, participate in evaluating and classifying 5-star OCOP products. At the same time, there should be policies to encourage entities to confidently produce high-quality products to participate in the OCOP Program.
Accumulated from 2019 to present, Hanoi has evaluated and classified 3,317 OCOP products, including 6 5-star products, 22 potential 5-star products, 1,571 4-star products and 1,718 3-star products. The city strives to have at least 3% of potential 5-star products registered to participate in the evaluation and classification of national OCOP products by 2025.
