Domestic coffee price list updated on the morning of March 12, 2025 |
According to experts, coffee prices may continue to fluctuate in the short term due to the remaining high supply pressure. However, in the medium term, the market may recover when demand increases again and supply shows signs of decreasing.
In the domestic market, pepper prices continued to increase for the second consecutive day, with an increase of 300 - 500 VND/kg, to 130,500 - 131,500 VND/kg. In the world market, the price of Robusta for near-term delivery also increased slightly again while Arabica continued to decrease.
According to analysts, coffee prices are currently affected by many factors, of which the supply from Brazil and Vietnam is a key factor: Although the supply is abundant, sales tend to slow down because farmers expect prices to continue to rise. In addition, hedge funds limit sell-offs, helping to stabilize the market. Robusta coffee inventories monitored by ICE have dropped to a two-month low, creating momentum for prices to increase. The volatility of the US dollar affects commodity prices, including coffee.
Analysts say coffee prices may continue to move sideways or increase slightly in the coming sessions as demand remains stable. However, the market still has the potential for correction if there is increased profit-taking pressure from investors.
Dry weather in top producer Brazil remains a concern, but has been partly priced in, according to Reuters. Now, new concerns are emerging about the impact of high prices on demand.
Global coffee traders and roasters say they have cut purchases to a minimum as the industry reels from a sharp price surge, while suppliers have struggled to convince retailers to accept them.
