Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc surveyed four stuck real estate projects in Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa Province) to find solutions.
This afternoon (March 12), a Government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc inspected and heard reports on four "golden land" projects that are stuck in Nha Trang City.
The projects include the Tropicana Nha Trang commercial, hotel and apartment complex (Tropicana Nha Trang project) at 40 Tran Phu Street; the 48-48A Tran Phu land project with an area of over 3,642m2 that has been abandoned for many years; the 8,000m2 coastal land of Khanh Hoa Radio and Television Station at 70 Tran Phu Street and the Bavico Nha Trang hotel project.
These projects and lands are on the list of violating projects that the Central inspection and examination agency has previously concluded.
At the inspection, representatives of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee reported on the problems of the above projects and land plots to Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc.
More specifically, the Tropicana Nha Trang project, invested by Nha Trang Tropical Company Limited, was granted a construction permit by the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee for many years.
On a land area of over 10,900m2, the enterprise built a 40-storey building, including 1 basement, 2 tower blocks with a total area of over 6,200m2, with a scale of over 1,130 apartments. The project is expected to be put into operation in 2018.
The company has handed over the project, but the land has not yet been put into operation. The project is behind schedule due to problems in the inspection and re-determination of land prices.
For the land plot 48-48A Tran Phu intersection with Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - considered the busiest street in Nha Trang. In 2008, the land plot was auctioned by the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province for the right to use to a business for more than 221 billion VND, for the purpose of investing in hotels and luxury resort apartments.
Because the winning bidder was involved in a case under investigation, the Ministry of Public Security seized the land. Since then, more than 3,600 square meters of land have been left abandoned. Currently, central ministries and agencies are trying to find a way to resolve the problem but have not been successful.
Not far away, a plot of land of about 8,000 square meters at 70 Tran Phu Street, which used to be the headquarters of Khanh Hoa Radio and Television Station, has been vacant for many years.
In 2017, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee implemented the project to build a new office building for Khanh Hoa Radio and Television Station under the BT (build-transfer) form with Phuong Dong Nha Trang Company Limited. By 2020, this company had handed over the project, but the above land has not yet been put into operation.
In addition to these three projects, the Government delegation also inspected the Bavico Nha Trang hotel project.
After listening to the report of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc said he will chair a meeting on March 13 to discuss the current situation and propose solutions to solve problems for stuck projects in Khanh Hoa.
