After increasing on the morning of March 12, the domestic gold price continued to rise in the afternoon of the same day, surpassing the 94 million VND/tael mark for the first time. Currently, the price of gold rings is 600,000 VND/tael higher than that of SJC gold bars.
Specifically, at the end of the afternoon of March 12, Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited listed plain round gold rings at VND92.55 million/tael (buy) - VND94.1 million/tael (sell), an increase of VND250,000/tael (buy) and VND300,000/tael (sell) compared to the morning.

Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company increased from 92.2 million VND/tael (buy) - 93.7 million VND/tael (sell) to 92.3 million VND/tael (buy) - 93.9 million VND/tael (sell).
There was no adjustment in the price of gold rings in the early morning, but currently Saigon Jewelry Company Limited has set the price of gold rings of type 1-5 at only 91.8 million VND/tael (buy) - 93.4 million VND/tael (sell), an increase of 800,000 VND/tael (buy) and 500,000 VND/tael (sell).
The price of SJC gold bars was adjusted by businesses to increase by 200,000 VND/tael each way, to 91.8 million VND/tael (buy) - 93.5 million VND/tael (sell).
In the international market, early this afternoon, the gold price was trading at 2,911.2 USD/ounce compared to 2,915 USD/ounce at 9:00 a.m. the same day.

More sellers than buyers
According to the Industry and Trade Newspaper, at some large gold shops on Tran Nhan Tong Street (Hanoi), the number of buyers and sellers is bustling. Ms. Ngoc Mai (Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi) said: " I saw the price of gold rings go up so I sold them to make a profit. I bought 4 taels of gold rings 3 months ago and made a profit of nearly 90 million VND/tael. Although everyone predicted that gold would go up to 100 million VND/tael, I saw that the price was now at its peak so I sold them right away."
In the context of the sharp increase in gold ring prices, many experts say that investors need to be careful when buying gold for investment at this time. Gold prices are at their peak and pose many risks. In particular, investors should not buy gold for short-term trading because the difference in the buying and selling price of gold is high, so buying gold for short-term investment in this context does not bring much profit, even loss.
