At the ceremony, representatives of Lak District People's Committee approved the decision to recognize national intangible cultural heritage.
According to Decision No. 3991/QD-BVHTTDL, dated December 10, 2024, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the list of national intangible cultural heritage for the pottery making profession of the M'nong people, Yang Tao commune, Lak district, Dak Lak province.

The pottery craft of the M'nong people has existed and developed for a long time, has its own characteristics, is made entirely by traditional manual methods, closed from the stages of collecting soil; incubation, pounding soil; wet ceramic product kneading techniques; shaping, polishing wooden products; decorating patterns and firing in the open air. Each product has its own characteristics and nuances. M'nong pottery is currently recognized as having the best technique among the local ethnic groups in the Central Highlands.
Currently, this pottery making technique only exists in Yang Tao commune, Lak district with about 13 artisans in Yok Duon and Dong Bak villages.
The traditional pottery craft of the M'nong people in Yang Tao commune has been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage, which will open up more opportunities to preserve and develop the pottery craft, create unique products, and form a wider market for handmade ceramic products.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Lak district awarded certificates of merit to 8 artisans with outstanding achievements in preserving and promoting the traditional pottery craft of the M'nong people in Yang Tao commune.
Within the framework of the program, a gong cultural exchange program took place with the participation of artisan teams from communes and towns in the district.

At the exchange night, locals and tourists were able to watch special performances featuring the cultural characteristics of local ethnic groups such as gong performances, dances, folk songs, and performances of traditional musical instruments.
The program is an opportunity for people and tourists to learn and experience the space of gong cultural activities, contributing to building, promoting and preserving the traditional culture of the Central Highlands people in general and Lak district in particular.
