On March 11, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuong Tin District (Hanoi) organized a handover of funds to build Great Solidarity houses for poor households in Nghiem Xuyen Commune. Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Nguyen Lan Huong attended the ceremony.
According to the report of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghiem Xuyen commune, through review, it was found that the family of Mrs. Pham Thi Bong, Nghiem Xa village, a member of the Veterans Association of the commune, had a particularly difficult housing situation, was sick and often sick, had to raise her children alone, and did not have enough money to build a house. Given the difficult situation of Mrs. Bong's family, the Fatherland Front and the People's Committee of Nghiem Xuyen commune proposed that the Fatherland Front of Thuong Tin district support the construction of a Great Unity house for Mrs. Pham Thi Bong's family.
On November 25, 2024, Ms. Pham Thi Bong's family started building a house. Currently, Ms. Bong's family's house has been basically completed, ensuring quality and safety with an area of 60m2 with a total estimated cost of more than 450 million VND, of which the District Fatherland Front Committee supported 50 million VND. In addition, the family also received help from relatives and neighbors during the house construction process.
Speaking on behalf of the leaders of Thuong Tin district at the ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuong Tin district Nguyen Tuan Dung said that implementing the program of building Great Unity houses for households with housing difficulties in 2024 - 2025, from the beginning of 2024 to the present, Thuong Tin district has built 134 Great Unity houses, of which 54 houses received support from the City Fatherland Front Committee according to Joint Plan No. 24/KHLT-UBND-UBMTTQ between the People's Committee and the City Fatherland Front Committee.
With the view to provide the best support for households with housing difficulties, in recent years, Thuong Tin district has mobilized from many socialized sources the Fund for the Poor to build and repair houses. Notably, it does not divide into phases to support but implements the "rolling" principle, households with housing needs after being surveyed by all levels will be supported by the district with construction costs. This is a source of encouragement for families to rise out of poverty, join hands to build a rich, beautiful and civilized commune and district.
At the ceremony, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Nguyen Lan Huong presented a refrigerator to Ms. Pham Thi Bong's family. On this occasion, leaders of Nghiem Xuyen commune and Nghiem Xa village also presented many meaningful gifts to Ms. Pham Thi Bong's family.
