On October 3, the event series “50 years of Vietnam - Japan: Crossing the East Sea to welcome the Sun” officially opened at the Diplomatic Academy with the highlight being the Japanese Doll Exhibition.

The program was attended by Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin - Head of Training Department, Diplomatic Academy; Mr. Osuka Shoya, Assistant Director in charge of culture and arts of the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange - Japan Foundation, along with invited delegates, staff, lecturers and students of the Diplomatic Academy.
The Asia-Pacific Studies Department, together with the Japanese Cultural Club of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam - ChuraChura and the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange, co-organized the series of events from October 3-8. The Embassy of Japan in Vietnam has recognized this as a program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations (1973-2023).
In her opening speech, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin emphasized that the program “50 Years of Vietnam - Japan: Crossing the East Sea to Welcome the Sun” promises to bring an interesting and useful week of experiencing Japanese culture. At the same time, this event will open up exchange activities between the Diplomatic Academy and Japanese friends, contributing to spreading cultural and historical values and love for the country and people between the two countries and peoples.
Ms. Bui Thi Le Linh, Head of the Organizing Committee, shared that continuing the spirit of solidarity and development of a community that loves and is passionate about Japanese culture, the Japanese Culture Club of the Diplomatic Academy is honored to host the event series "50 years of Vietnam - Japan: Crossing the East Sea to welcome the Sun".
These activities are open to all students in Hanoi, promising to bring diverse and interesting experiences, imbued with the characteristics of the land of cherry blossoms.

The highlight of the opening ceremony was the Japanese Doll Exhibition with many traditional and modern dolls crafted directly in the Land of the Rising Sun. Through admiring the exhibition room, attendees had the opportunity to feel the depth of knowledge and creative personality in Japanese culture and people.
Mr. Oshuka Shoya, Assistant Director in charge of Culture and Arts of the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange, said that this is the first time the Center has coordinated to organize a doll exhibition at a university, so he hopes that the beauty of Japanese culture will spread to the hearts of many young people and visitors. Since Vietnam and Japan established relations in 1973, the cooperation between the two countries has been growing and he believes that this series of events will contribute to that process.
