The ASEAN Future Forum 2025, chaired by the Diplomatic Academy (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), will be held on February 25-26 in Hanoi with the theme "Building a united, inclusive and resilient ASEAN in a volatile world".
The ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) is an initiative announced by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the 43rd ASEAN Summit (Jakarta, Indonesia, September 2023).
This is Vietnam's first large-scale 1.5-channel multilateral initiative to create a forum for leaders, experts, researchers, businesses and other partners to exchange, discuss and propose new ideas and initiatives to contribute to shaping the future development of ASEAN and promoting cooperation between ASEAN and its partners.
Speaking to the press, Acting Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies, Diplomatic Academy Trinh Minh Manh said that the Forum, held for the first time in April 2024, was a great success, attracting the attention, response and widespread support of ASEAN countries and the international community.
The ASEAN Future Forum 2025 is held at a special time: the 80th anniversary of the founding of modern Vietnam, marking the 30th anniversary of Vietnam's accession to ASEAN, the 10th anniversary of the formation of the ASEAN Community, and also the year ASEAN will adopt the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to chair and deliver a speech at the Forum. To date, the Forum has had over 500 delegates registered to attend in person, including senior leaders of ASEAN countries and partners; leading regional and international experts and scholars; Ambassadors, senior officials of ASEAN countries and partners, international organizations; representatives of businesses, localities and a large number of domestic and international reporters.
