More than a month ago, the 1.7km Can Tho airport beltway was accelerated by the joint venture of Hoang Gia Construction and Trade Joint Stock Company and Thang Long Joint Stock Company to open to one-way traffic to welcome the Lunar New Year.
Airport Ring Road, the section connecting to Vo Van Kiet Street, right in front of Can Tho airport gate.
When the road was opened to one-way traffic, people living around this area waited every day for the road to be opened to two-way traffic.
However, over the past month, the remaining direction of the road towards Can Tho airport has been reported to be under slow construction. This has made people even more impatient.
According to the reporter's records on March 13, there were workers planting trees on both sides of the sidewalk, and the road surface was being compacted. There were many rollers and machines at the construction site, but most of these vehicles were not operating.
At the section near the Can Tho airport gate connecting to Vo Van Kiet street, there are no construction vehicles, during the dry season, the wind is strong. A few cars passing by make white dust fly everywhere, causing many difficulties in traffic.
Recently, a representative of the Southern Airport Authority in Can Tho also sent a dispatch to the Can Tho Department of Transport to give opinions on the construction process of this route.
While in the finishing stage, the construction of this route is reported to be slowing down.
According to this unit, the Can Tho Airport Ring Road project connecting Le Hong Phong Street to National Highway 91B is being urgently implemented by the authorities. However, the section near Can Tho International Airport is still not completed.
This situation causes some difficulties for vehicles when passing through this road section.
The representative of the Southern Airport Authority in Can Tho requested the Department of Transport to consult with relevant agencies and construction units to speed up the construction progress of the remaining road to ensure convenient, safe and thoughtful service.
Responding to this issue, the construction unit representative said that the road surface in the remaining direction is being processed and when conditions are met, it will be paved with asphalt.
"This road section is weak ground, it must be compacted to standards before being paved with asphalt, it will definitely be completed before April 30," the construction unit representative confirmed.

The left side of the road will be open to traffic before Tet, the other side is fenced off for continued construction.
The remaining part of the road has not been paved yet, making people impatient. Meanwhile, the temporary two-way traffic section has no road markings or lane separation, potentially causing traffic safety problems.
On March 13, there were many machines and vehicles at the construction site but no operators.
Trees are being planted on both sides of the sidewalk of this road.
The 1.7km road has been under construction for more than four years and is still not finished.
The intersection with Vo Van Kiet Street is still messy.
