The design consultant proposed two options for the metro route in sections through Dong Nai.
On March 13, according to news from Dong Nai province, the locality has just worked with the consulting unit, Southern Transport Design Consulting Joint Stock Company (TEDI South) to propose a plan to connect the Ho Chi Minh City metro line from Suoi Tien to Dong Nai.
Metro Line 1 in Ho Chi Minh City has been operating very well recently, meeting people's travel needs.
According to the consultant, the metro section through Dong Nai will have 13 stations (including Station S0) and 1 depot with an area of over 23 hectares. The starting point is connected from Suoi Tien bus station of metro line No. 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, the end point of the line ends at the depot expected in Ho Nai 3 commune, Trang Bom district. The length of the line is nearly 19km.
The consulting unit proposed the route from station S0 to station S2.4, the train will go above ground to the North of National Highway 1 (from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai), cross the Dong Nai River, continue to go above ground to pass the Vung Tau intersection, then transfer from above ground to underground to pass the Vung Tau intersection.
Recently, at the working session of the Provincial People's Committee with related units, the leader of the Department of Finance said that for the capital source to implement the project, it is possible to consider using foreign loans (ODA) to implement. However, the representative of TEDI South said that using ODA loans will have constraints on contractors and procedures, so the time will be longer. Regarding the capital issue for metro implementation, the leader of Dong Nai province assigned the Department of Construction to propose the establishment of a working group to develop an investment project for the metro line connecting with metro line No. 1 of Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, propose specific mechanisms to recommend support from central agencies to implement this project in the fastest, most economical, and effective way and include it in the list of top priority projects for early implementation.
Similarly, from station S2.4 to station S2.7, the consulting unit also proposed 2 route options. Option 1, the route transitions from underground to elevated after station S2.4 to go through the overpass on the green strip on the right side of Highway 1 through Bien Hoa, ending at station S2.7 located at Amata Park.
With option 2, the line continues underground to station S2.6 at Tam Hiep Park, following 2 tunnels on each side of the roadway of National Highway 1 to limit site clearance and reconnecting to end the line at station S2.7.
For the route from station S2.7 to station S2.12, the consulting unit also proposed two options: first, after leaving station S2.7, the route continues to run above ground parallel to the National Highway 1 overpass, after the overpass the route moves into the middle of the median strip of National Highway 1. Option 2, when leaving station S2.7, the route goes underground parallel to the National Highway 1 overpass, after the overpass the route continues to go underground under National Highway 1.
After crossing the Dong Nai River, the metro will run along National Highway 1 or underground parallel to limit site clearance.
For the final section from station S2.12 to the depot in Ho Nai 3 commune, the route will gradually move down to the roadbed behind the center, before Doi Thai Hoa road. According to the representative of the consulting unit, with this plan, the total investment is expected to be about 30,000 billion VND.
