It takes 15 months to complete Phuoc Khanh Bridge - the highest bridge in Vietnam.
Vietnam Expressway Corporation (investor) said it is bidding to find a contractor to construct package J3-1 (to carry out the remaining work of Phuoc Khanh cable-stayed bridge) on the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway.
According to the bidding documents, the package is worth more than 636 billion VND, and is being widely bid online with the bid opening date being March 24. The contractor will have 15 months to perform the contract.
Phuoc Khanh Bridge and Binh Khanh Bridge on the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway both have a clearance of 55m. These are the two bridges with the highest clearance in the country to date.
Phuoc Khanh Bridge was previously implemented by the joint venture Sumitomo Mitsui (Japan) - Cienco 4 (Vietnam). In 2022, the investor and contractor J3 terminated the contract when the package volume reached 80.7%.
Recently, the bidding process to find a contractor to continue this package has been prolonged due to the adjustment of the policy from using Japanese ODA capital to VEC's own capital arrangement. This is a key package that determines the opening date of the entire 58km Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway connecting the Eastern and Western regions of the South.

A representative of Dang Van Ngu Hospital said that in 2023, this hospital alone received 15,000 people infected with dog roundworm, while hospitals with similar functions in Quy Nhon and Ho Chi Minh City also had a similar number of cases. By 2024, Dang Van Ngu Hospital alone received 19,000 cases of dog roundworm, the largest number in recent years.
In addition, the number of infections with other types of worms from animals such as dog tapeworm, schistosomiasis, liver fluke, pork tapeworm larvae... all increased. In particular, the number of liver fluke infections recorded in 2024 was twice as high as in 2023, the number of dog tapeworm infections was three times higher than in 2023...
Explaining the reason for the increase in the number of people infected with worms, Dr. Hoang Dinh Canh, director of the hospital, said that the increase in pet owners while hygiene for pets is not guaranteed is the leading cause, the second is that people are more aware of going to the doctor and getting treatment.
On this occasion, Dang Van Ngu Hospital said it had put into operation an on-demand medical examination area, with 3 specialized examination rooms and testing equipment, reducing the number of waiting patients and improving the quality of treatment.
