Passing through this pass, you will see the whole peaceful Mai Chau like a watercolor painting.
Deo Da Trang is another name for Thung Khe Pass, connecting Mai Chau and Tan Lac in Hoa Binh province. With a landscape covered in white snow and clouds all year round and a winding, curving road, Thung Khe Pass attracts many backpackers. Passing this pass, you will be able to see the whole peaceful Mai Chau like a watercolor painting.
Thung Khe Pass is a limestone mountain area, formed by the mountain cutting to make Highway 6. During the process of breaking the mountain to make way for the road, rocks from above slid down, creating a white color all over the mountains and hills. That is why the name Da Trang Pass was born.
The weather here is also quite interesting when a day has almost all 4 seasons of the year. Early morning, the weather is cold with clear blue sky. At noon, the sun is bright, the sea of fog and clouds gradually disappear, this is the ideal time for backpackers to conquer the pass and admire the whole scene. In the evening, the temperature also gradually drops and fog begins to cover again. This time is quite limited for moving across the pass.
At the top of the pass is Thung Khe market, also known as the market in the clouds by travel enthusiasts. The small market is located on a large edge of land, slightly encroaching on the cliff, with small thatched-roof shops of the locals with a few rickety tables and chairs. This is where people often stop to rest, warm up with hot tea, bamboo rice, boiled corn, wild meat...
With its majestic landscape and snow-covered colors, Da Trang Pass has long been a check-in spot attracting young people when coming to the roads in Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh.
