On the afternoon of March 12, at the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), Minister Nguyen Kim Son had a meeting with Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam.

Thanking the Minister and officials of the Ministry of Education and Training for their welcome, Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya said that the educational and training cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand is an important pillar, contributing to promoting the general relationship between the two countries.
One example given by the Ambassador is related to the education promotion activities of Princess Maha Chakri of Thailand with two important projects: Princess Maha Chakri Award honoring teachers who have made many contributions to education and the community and the project "Improving the quality of life of children and youth in the Asia-Pacific region".

Currently, many outstanding Vietnamese teachers have received the Princess Maha Chakri Award; the project “Improving the quality of life of children and youth in the Asia-Pacific region” has also had the participation of many Vietnamese educational institutions.
Sharing his appreciation for the promotion of teaching Vietnamese in Thailand and teaching Thai to Vietnamese students, meeting the needs of Thai businesses that are increasingly investing in Vietnam, Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya hopes that the Ministry of Education and Training will pay attention to supporting visa policies for Thai teachers and lecturers to teach in Vietnam; pay attention to promoting cooperation in teaching science and technology between the two countries; coordinate activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand...

Expressing his delight at welcoming Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand Urawadee Sriphiromya to visit and work with the Ministry of Education and Training, Minister Nguyen Kim Son emphasized the good cooperative relationship in many fields between the two countries, including education and training.
Thanking the Ambassador for his interest in Vietnam's education and training, as well as cooperation in the field of education and training between the two countries, affirming the interest in coordination related to the issues proposed by the Ambassador, the Minister thanked the Thai Government for its interest in promoting the teaching of Thai in Vietnam and hoped that Thailand would continue to support sending lecturers and volunteer teachers to Vietnam; and have a policy for Vietnamese interns to be able to study in Thailand.

According to the Minister, the exchange of students, especially Thai language students, with Thai universities will improve the quality of teaching, as well as help students become more interested in studying this major.
The Minister also hoped that the Ambassador would continue to support connections between Vietnamese and Thai higher education institutions to exchange professors and establish joint training programs related to the fields of technology and engineering.
Along with Vietnam's projects and programs, the Project "Improving the quality of life of children and youth in the Asia-Pacific region" has been supporting school and classroom facilities and equipment, contributing to improving the quality of life of students in participating schools, especially for boarding students from difficult circumstances. The Princess of Thailand Award for Teachers with Outstanding Contributions to Education and the Community includes a medal, a certificate, and a prize of $10,000. The award has been given five times since 2015. |
