Expanding the market for key products

To promote the consumption of key agricultural products, in 2025, Gia Lai provincial authorities will focus on implementing a domestic trade promotion program through organizing and participating in many fairs, exhibitions, markets, connecting supply and demand, and connecting trade.

Creating a bridge between production and consumption

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thu - Director of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion (Department of Industry and Trade) said: According to the plan, in 2025, departments, branches, and localities in the province will organize about 65 trade promotion programs inside and outside the province.

In order for trade promotion activities to be focused and effective, the unit will support and invite participants to participate in the program in accordance with the production scale and target audience of each participant. The goal will be to support businesses to target wholesalers and approach foreign partners for export opportunities.

“For cooperatives and households producing agricultural products, the province will support participation in fairs and markets held in or outside the province. Vietnamese goods programs continue to focus on rural and mountainous areas to reach consumers directly. This is a strategy to create a bridge between production and consumption, while helping consumers have the opportunity to use good quality products, reducing intermediary costs,” Ms. Thu informed.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tan - Representative of An Thien essential oil production facility (Pleiku City) said: "Every year, the facility is supported to participate in a number of fairs and exhibitions in and outside the province, each trip lasts 3-7 days. Contacting customers helps the facility understand the needs and tastes of consumers in different markets, thereby improving its products."

According to Mr. Tan, currently, essential oil products are favored and used frequently by customers, but there are many similar products on the market. Therefore, trade promotion activities not only connect manufacturers and customers but also help establishments identify their strengths and weaknesses to improve and increase the competitiveness of their products.

Talking about the opportunity to expand the market through the trade promotion program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha - Representative of An Le Phu Production and Trade Company Limited (Chu Prong district) shared: "Through a number of trade promotion programs in 2024, the Company will be connected with wholesale customers, bringing goods to distribution channels such as convenience stores to consume products such as ground coffee, macadamia nuts, soursop tea...

Such a first step will help the product reach further, not only in promoting the product but also in building strong relationships with business partners."

Domestic market trade promotion

Implementing Plan No. 3102/KH-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee on trade promotion in 2025, departments, branches and sectors plan to organize about 20 trade promotion programs inside and outside the province; districts, towns and cities plan to organize about 32 trade promotion programs inside and outside the province; trade promotion enterprises plan to organize about 13 fairs in the province.

Trade promotion programs focus on a number of types such as: exhibitions, fairs, programs to bring Vietnamese goods to rural and mountainous areas; conferences to connect supply and demand; trade connection; participation in displaying products at fairs, trade connection conferences, trade promotion conferences, connecting product consumption in and outside the province; developing points to introduce and sell Vietnamese products, typical specialties, agricultural products, OCOP products, typical rural industrial products, agricultural products of the province...

According to the Director of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion: In recent times, enterprises, cooperatives, and production facilities have boldly invested in machinery and equipment to promote automation of some production stages and diversify many product lines. For example, coffee includes ground coffee, filter bag coffee, instant coffee; bee products include pure honey, ginger-infused honey, honeycomb; medicinal products, nutritional seeds such as sachi are also deeply processed...

“Through each trade promotion program, we create connections between businesses and consumers, businesses and businesses. The purpose is to help businesses identify and accurately assess market trends, build appropriate production and business development strategies, especially grasp the standards and regulations on procedures for exporting processed foods to Asian markets,” Ms. Thu emphasized.
