Dak Lak province has 129 communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, including 54 communes in area III, 5 communes in area II, and 70 communes in area I. Currently, the whole province has 454 extremely difficult villages and hamlets in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

In 2024, the total product value of Dak Lak province is estimated to reach more than 145 billion VND, an increase of 19.53% compared to 2023; GRDP per capita is estimated to reach 74.7 million VND/person; mobilized social investment capital is estimated to reach nearly 37 billion VND, an increase of 4.02% compared to 2023.

The overall poverty rate in the province decreased by 2.5%, the poverty rate among ethnic minorities decreased by 3.5%; trained workers compared to the total workforce is estimated at 64%; jobs are created for about 30,350 workers, of which about 1,700 people are exported. By the end of 2024, a total of 81/149 communes have met new rural standards, 1 district-level unit has completed the National Target Program (MTQG) on New Rural Construction...

According to the report at the Conference, implementing the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2025 period (National Target Program 1719), Dak Lak province has basically completed the allocation of the development investment capital plan from the central budget and the provincial budget for the 2021-2025 period. The total expected capital allocated to implement the National Target Program for the 2021-2025 period is more than 4,658 billion VND. The capital allocation plan for 2024 is 1,714 billion VND, of which: Capital transferred from 2022 and 2023 to 2024 is more than 724 billion VND, capital in 2024 is nearly 990 billion VND.

The disbursement result of capital sources to implement the Program from 2022 - 2024 (cumulative data up to October 31, 2024) is 1,409 billion VND, reaching 54.0% of the plan.

Accordingly, in 2024, the Ethnic Committee opened 4 training classes on ethnic languages ​​(Ede language) in 4 districts and towns with 212 students; organized 2 groups to study experiences in the Northern and Southern provinces; 8 training classes to improve capacity for officers implementing the Program at all levels and training and capacity building for the community, with 1,040 students; 1 training conference on legal knowledge and communication skills, advocacy, legal advice related to marriage, population and family for the team of reporters and legal propagandists for 120 students; 1 working group to study and exchange experiences on early marriage and consanguineous marriage in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the Northern provinces.

In addition, the Provincial Ethnic Committee also fully implemented policies for prestigious people such as distributing newspapers, visiting prestigious people who are sick or have passed away; organizing 2 classes with nearly 323 participants.

In particular, in 2024, the Dak Lak Provincial Ethnic Committee guided and organized the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities at district and provincial levels in 2024; advised on the successful organization of the Law Competition on Ethnic Minorities in Dak Lak province in 2024.

In addition, the Dak Lak Provincial Ethnic Committee also effectively implemented investment policies and the use of aid resources; investment and sustainable development policies (policies on lending capital to poor ethnic minority households); investment programs for the construction of irrigation works; policies on dissemination, legal education and legal aid , etc.

At the Conference, delegates heard many presentations and opinions from representatives of sectors and localities proposing solutions to implement ethnic work and ethnic policies in the coming time.

Concluding the Conference, orienting tasks for 2025, Head of the Dak Lak Provincial Ethnic Committee Nguyen Kinh shared: Besides the achieved results, the implementation of ethnic work and ethnic policies in the province also has shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome.

To effectively implement ethnic work and ethnic policies, in 2025, the Provincial Ethnic Committee proposed solutions to continue effectively implementing the National Target Program 1719; focusing on building the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2026 - 2030, closely following the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050, Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW of the Politburo on socio-economic development orientations and ensuring national defense and security in the Central Highlands region to 2030, vision to 2045 and orientations of the Central and local governments on socio-economic development; proactively grasp the situation of political security, social order and safety, and life and production in ethnic minority areas;

Timely advise on the effective resolution of emerging issues to stabilize ethnic minority areas; continue to innovate, reorganize and improve the quality of state management apparatus operations on ethnic affairs at all levels, improve the quality of human resources; inspect and urge the implementation of ethnic programs, projects and policies at the grassroots level to promptly remove obstacles;...
