(NLDO) - On the morning of March 1, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's decision to transfer and appoint two Deputy Ministers.
At the ceremony, representatives of the Department of Organization and Personnel announced the Prime Minister's decisions, specifically: Decision No. 366 dated February 19, 2025 of the Prime Minister on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Pham Duc Long, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Science and Technology. The term of appointment is 5 years.
Authorized by the Prime Minister, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung presented the Decision on transfer and appointment to 2 Deputy Ministers of Science and Technology.
Decision No. 318 dated February 19, 2025 of the Prime Minister on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Science and Technology. The term of appointment is 5 years.
The above decisions take effect from March 1, 2025.
Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung believes that with their youth, extensive experience, professional capacity and high sense of responsibility, Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long and Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong will join the leadership of the Ministry of Science and Technology in solidarity, creativity, and lead the new Ministry of Science and Technology to develop strongly, contributing to the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.
Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long was born on May 27, 1970, in Thai Binh, and was trained in the field of electronics and telecommunications. He graduated with a degree in Electronics Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology; a master's degree and a doctorate in Electronics and Telecommunications from Tokyo University of Electronics and Telecommunications, Japan.
With the ability to manage and operate businesses, he has a lot of experience in the fields of telecommunications and information technology.
Before becoming Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Mr. Pham Duc Long held the position of General Director of VNPT Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group VNPT.
Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong was born on November 21, 1983, in Nam Dinh. He received his undergraduate degree in information technology from Hanoi National University, his master's degree in information technology from the University of Portsmouth, and his master's degree in business administration from Newcastle University, UK.
At the Ministry of Information and Communications, he has held the following positions: Deputy Director of the Department of Information Security; Deputy Chief of Office, Secretary of the Minister; Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel; Deputy Chief of Office in charge of the Office; Chief of Office; Chief Inspector; Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel.
Thus, the Ministry of Science and Technology currently has Minister Nguyen Manh Hung and 5 Deputy Ministers including: Mr. Bui The Duy, Mr. Le Xuan Dinh, Mr. Hoang Minh, Mr. Pham Duc Long and Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong.
