According to Mr. Hung, the authorities initially determined that the medical staff was "keeping the money in their pockets". When invited to work, this person said that the students could use their old insurance cards to go to the doctor.

"We are asking the school to specifically report the entire incident. Next week, the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City will meet to handle this incident," Mr. Hung said.

Previously, at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, Ms. H. - a parent of a student at Mac Thi Buoi Primary School, paid 632,000 VND to the school's office to buy a one-year health insurance card for her child.

Last July, Ms. H's child had to be hospitalized for treatment, but the hospital informed that the student's health insurance card had expired for 7 months.

At this time, Ms. H. confirmed that she had paid the school in full for the health insurance card, but the hospital still did not accept it, so Ms. H. had to pay the entire hospital fee of more than 3 million VND for her child to be treated.

Ms. H. went to work with the school and received a notice that the school office had not paid for health insurance card renewals for many students, including her child.

Taking their child to the hospital, parents discovered unusual violations by the school . Although they had paid for a health insurance card for their child, when the parents took their child to the hospital for treatment, the hospital informed them that the health insurance card had expired 7 months ago.
