On the morning of January 29, ahead of the New Year of the Dragon 2024, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang chaired the annual meeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with foreign representative agencies and foreign news and press agencies stationed in Vietnam. The event was attended by nearly 40 Ambassadors and more than 50 media and press officers of foreign representative agencies; nearly 50 reporters and press assistants of foreign press offices stationed in Vietnam.
This is an opportunity for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representative agencies and foreign press offices to review the work and coordination of the past year and celebrate the traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang shared that in 2023, in the face of instability and unpredictable fluctuations in the world situation, Vietnam has achieved many important results in many fields. In particular, foreign affairs activities have been vibrant, with 50 high-level delegation exchanges on all channels of the Party, State, National Assembly, and people-to-people exchanges.
Vietnam's relations with many countries and partners have been upgraded and expanded. Today, Vietnam has a network of relations with 193 countries; established, consolidated and continuously developed the framework of strategic partnerships and comprehensive partnerships with 30 partners, including all 5 members of the United Nations Security Council.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized that, in addition to Vietnam's determination and efforts, these important results were also achieved thanks to the valuable support and effective cooperation of friends and partners around the world.
In foreign information and propaganda work, Vietnam has received cooperation and support from foreign representative agencies, international organizations and foreign press offices residing in Vietnam, contributing to making the international community know, understand and love Vietnam more.
The Deputy Minister commented that 2024 will continue to be a vibrant year for Vietnam's foreign affairs, a pivotal year for Vietnam to implement the foreign affairs goals of the 13th Party Congress.
Citing the famous saying “if you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together”, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang hopes to continue receiving enthusiastic and active cooperation from foreign representative agencies and foreign press offices residing in Vietnam in the coming time.
Taking the image of the dragon, the symbol of the new year of Giap Thin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang and delegates sent each other best wishes and expressed hope for a 2024 full of positive energy, peace, and prosperous development for each country and the whole world.
