As leaks about the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Air continue to pile up, it looks like Apple has indeed taken inspiration from Google's camera cluster design.

Accordingly, the iPhone 17 series is very likely to adopt the same rear camera cluster design as the Google Pixel 9 and previous generations, at least the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Air models.

Thanks to leaked designs and 3D printing technology, Apple fans can now get their first look at what these new iPhones will actually look like.

New camera design

According to leaked information, the iPhone 17 Air will have a slim rear camera cluster with only one lens, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max will come with a significantly larger camera cluster.

This camera cluster will contain the typical trio of lenses, but the flash is placed on the far edge of the camera cluster instead of in the middle like previous generations.

Despite having many similarities with the Google Pixel line, the iPhone 17 Pro Max and 17 Air still retain Apple's own style in the overall design language.

However, this bold change is controversial. Some people welcome the new design because they are tired of the old, repetitive style of the "Apple" for many years, but others are skeptical about Apple's direction.

Some say this could be a mistake on Apple's part, as if the new iPhone looks too much like the Pixel, it could confuse users between the two rival brands.

There is still some debate about the accuracy of these leaked designs. Some reputable industry sources claim that this is the actual appearance of the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Air, but Bloomberg 's Mark Gurman denies it. According to Gurman, these designs are based on a fake CAD drawing.

However, another equally reliable source claims that they have seen the iPhone 17 Air in development and that this design option has indeed been chosen.

If this is true, at least Apple has escaped the boredom of repetitive designs in recent years.

What does the iPhone 17 Pro have besides design changes?

It is likely that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will keep the same sizes of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches as their "predecessors", as these sizes have just been changed in the iPhone 16 series.

However, according to sources from The Information , the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will have "significant" design changes, not just stopping at the screen.

These changes include: using an aluminum frame instead of titanium; a half-aluminum, half-glass back instead of all-glass; a rectangular camera cluster...

A recent unconfirmed rumor suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro models will adopt a new display technology called Low-Dielectric TEE, which can reduce signal interference and power loss, thereby improving performance and extending battery life.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a significantly smaller Dynamic Island, thanks to the application of metalens technology to reduce the size of the Face ID system without reducing efficiency, while expanding the display space on the screen, according to expert Jeff Pu.

In addition, the A19 Pro chip, Apple-designed Wi-Fi 7 chip, and 12GB of RAM will bring significant power to the Apple flagship. In addition, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is said to have a Telephoto camera upgraded to 48MP, instead of 12MP like on the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The new iPhone series will be launched in September 2025, according to Apple's annual tradition. The 2025 iPhone models are expected to include: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air.
