The Viet Tri City Open Rowing Tournament in the year of Giap Thin 2024 is part of the activities at the Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary - Hung Temple Festival and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in 2024.
The rowing competition is held to preserve and honor the unique cultural values of rowing art, thereby assessing the level of rowers, and continuing to affirm the growth of the sports movement in Viet Tri city. This is also a meaningful annual activity held on the occasion of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day every year.
The swimming teams competed fiercely.
This is a collective sports playground, helping athletes have many opportunities to exchange, learn experiences and strengthen solidarity, creating a premise for Viet Tri city to raise the scale of the organization to become a National Professional Swimming Tournament in the following years.
Participating in the competition, each boat has 22 people, including 20 rowers, one person beats the gong to keep the rhythm, and one person steers. The rowing teams complete the swimming course with a distance of 2.6km. After participating in the knockout round, the Organizing Committee selects 4 teams to compete in the Final round based on the finishing time of the teams after 9 teams compete.
The Organizing Committee awarded the championship cup and souvenir flag to the Bach Hac Ward Swimming Team, Viet Tri City.
At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the team of Bach Hac ward (Viet Tri city); the second prize to the team of Cam Khe district; the third prize to the teams of Thanh Thuy district and Doan Hung district. The teams that won the encouragement prize included Tam Nong district and 4 teams of Viet Tri city including Phuong Lau, Song Lo, Duu Lau, Trung Vuong.
The extended rowing festival on Van Lang Park Lake has left a good impression on the people and tourists. This festival has aroused the spirit of respecting ancestors, the morality of drinking water and remembering its source, creating awareness of emotions, community, and the strength of the nation's traditional sport. The festival is an opportunity for people to uphold the national martial spirit, reenacting the heroic and glorious history of our ancestors for thousands of years of defending the country.
This is also one of the activities to attract tourists and promote tourism to the homeland to a large number of people to return to the original tourist city on the occasion of Hung King's death anniversary in 2024.
