To prepare for the performance in the sky of Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of April 30, since the beginning of March, many fighter jets and pilots from air force units across the country have gathered at Bien Hoa airport, Dong Nai to serve training work.
The Air Defense - Air Force Service said that five helicopters including Mi-8 and Mi-17 from Air Force Regiment 916, Division 371, from the base in Hoa Lac (Hanoi) were present at Bien Hoa airport (Dong Nai) for flight training to serve the parade.
This is the first time a large number of fighter planes have performed in the skies over Ho Chi Minh City.
The pilots will practice flying with the national flag with the 917th and 930th Helicopter Regiments before performing at the parade in the sky of Ho Chi Minh City. The helicopter squadron's mission is to carry the national flag over the Independence Palace.
The 916th Helicopter Regiment is a unit with many years of experience in flag-raising missions, in events such as the International Defense Exhibition or the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory.
To ensure safety, the Ministry of National Defense has surveyed and mapped the flight zone in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City, coordinated with civil aviation to unify flight plans and routes, ensuring absolute safety.
From early morning, technical staff began checking the electrical system and lubricating the aircraft.
Before each flight, the technical team in charge of each helicopter carefully checks the cockpit to avoid even the smallest mistake.
In addition to the air force performance, on the morning of April 30, on Le Duan Street, there will be a parade with 21 cannon shots fired to the background of the Vietnamese National Anthem, a parade of model cars with the National Emblem - Party flags, national flags - cars carrying the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh; parades of military, militia and self-defense forces; parades of police forces; and parades of the masses.
