This year, Hung King’s Commemoration Day falls on Monday, the first working day of the week. Therefore, officials, civil servants, public employees and workers who work on Saturday and Sunday will have 3 consecutive days off, from April 5 to April 7.

Reunification Day, April 30, and International Labor Day, May 1, will swap working days for 5 consecutive days off, from April 30 to May 4. Workers will go to work to make up for the lost time on Saturday, April 26.
For agencies and units that do not have a fixed Saturday and Sunday off schedule every week, they will base on the specific program and plan of the unit to arrange a suitable holiday schedule.
The drafting agency encourages businesses to give employees time off according to the above schedule. Due to work requirements, businesses may proactively ask employees to work on holidays and Tet. This case will be considered overtime.
According to Article 107 of the 2019 Labor Code, employees are only required to work on days off if they agree. When agreeing to work, employees will be paid overtime according to the provisions of Article 98 of the 2019 Labor Code.
Specifically, working during the day of Lunar New Year is calculated at an additional 300% of the salary of a normal working day. In addition, working at night on holidays and Tet is calculated at an additional 390% of the salary of a normal working day.
