(NLDO) - The "Pieces of History" class held at Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) brought students many interesting experiences.
More than 260 first graders at Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School (District 1) experienced a special lesson, a lesson within the "Pieces of History" festival, towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

"I was able to answer 6 questions, and we enjoyed it both playing and learning at the same time," said Huynh Giao, a student in class 1/1 at Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School. Huynh Giao and his classmates tested their memory and quickness by answering questions through games at the festival.
Next to that, Khoi Anh, class 1/2, excitedly practiced assembling tank models with his friends, a math game through puzzle pieces and blocks to create a picture of the Independence Palace (now the Reunification Hall).
Excited to participate in special experiential lessons
In this special lesson, students will take turns overcoming obstacle stations. The schoolyard becomes a competition arena as groups of students enthusiastically participate in exciting and fun games.
Test the soldiers' dexterity when moving vehicles
With the game "Overcoming a Thousand Thorns", students will read the requirements on the puzzle pieces such as calculations, shape names, numbers, etc. and find the appropriate position to place the puzzle pieces in the right position to create a picture with content about the homeland, the image of a bucket hat, etc.
After completing the game, students will receive candy. With these games, students will consolidate and expand their knowledge of natural, social, and ethical subjects; creating opportunities for them to experience fun learning in a natural environment. At the same time, practice math problem-solving skills such as addition, subtraction; recognize the shapes of flat and solid figures... The first team to finish will be awarded a flag on the roof of the Independence Palace.

The next experience stations such as: Historical Moments; Marching to Saigon; Skilled Soldiers, Good Soldiers... are also designed with exciting games to train agility, bravery and dexterity when moving vehicles; completing and decorating tank models with rolled paper cores and colored paper.
Students also get to practice their health, agility and flexibility; review their Vietnamese knowledge when participating in overcoming obstacles such as tunneling, pole vaulting, hoop jumping, etc. When they finish, they answer the requirements of the pass, which are to read poems about soldiers, read slogans about the theme of celebrating April 30, etc. to receive gifts.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Van, Head of Grade 1, said that teachers in the grade had prepared for 3 weeks to create a festival that was both historical and integrated knowledge and review for the students. The festival aimed to help students consolidate their skills in mental addition and subtraction within 100, how to read a clock, learned shapes, and analyze and compare 2-digit numbers.
"The festival is the result of interdisciplinary integration of experiential content about the homeland in the subjects of Vietnamese, nature and society, ethics, experiential activities, fine arts, and music.
