This afternoon, February 28, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province held a ceremony to commend and reward students and teachers with high achievements in the National High School Student Competition for the 2024-2025 school year. Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai; Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Ho Dai Nam; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Chien Thang; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam attended.
Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Huong said that in the 2024-2025 school year, a team of 89 students from 9 teams was established to compete in the national cultural competition for 12th grade high school students. At the same time, a Training Council was established with 69 managers, teachers, and staff.
With many years of experience, the council has developed a plan and implemented training, in which it thoroughly grasped and assigned responsibilities to team leaders and training groups to conduct thorough research and discussions to form the training program, content, time..., assigning specific responsibilities to each teacher in charge of training topics in the direction of gradually increasing the content of knowledge to approach national, regional and international exams to promote students' thinking and creativity, maximizing teaching effectiveness.
The training council coordinates and contacts universities and specialized schools with a tradition in training excellent students nationally, regionally and internationally, inviting experienced teachers with in-depth expertise in each field to exchange knowledge and test-taking skills with students.

The national excellent student selection exam was organized by the Ministry of Education and Training at the end of December 2024: the whole province had 60/89 students winning prizes, reaching a rate of 67.4%, including 1 first prize, 7 second prizes, 17 third prizes, and 35 consolation prizes.
Specifically as follows: Math 6 prizes; Physics 8 prizes; Chemistry 8 prizes; Biology 5 prizes; Computer Science 10 prizes; Literature 1 prize; History 2 prizes; Geography 10 prizes; English 10 prizes. This year, there are 3 subjects with 100% of students taking the exam winning prizes (Computer Science, Geography and English).
There are 2 students of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Le Minh Nhat won first prize in Informatics, Tran Mai Huong Nguyen won second prize in Biology, and were called to participate in the Olympic Team selection exam, held in March 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam congratulated the excellent students who achieved high results in the exam. The awards they achieved today are the crystallization of long days of hard work studying, the worries and thoughts on each page of the book and the determination to overcome the pressure from wishes, aspirations and desires. It is the result of intelligence, a testament to perseverance and constant efforts.
This success also belongs to the teachers - those who have devoted all their hearts to inspiring, accompanying the children on every journey, always believing and encouraging them to move forward, step by step conquering the peak. Behind the proud achievements of the children, there is always the image of the fathers and mothers - those who have always worried about every meal and sleep with boundless love for their children, being a solid support for the children to study with peace of mind, helping them to overcome all limits.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam emphasized: We are entering a new stage of development with great aspirations, in which the quality of excellent students is always the goal, the driving force and also the great challenges for schools and each student. With the high determination of the whole sector in implementing Resolution 29 of the Politburo on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training, the provincial leaders assign important responsibilities and place expectations on the education and training sector, teachers and all students.
The province will continue to create the best conditions for the work of discovering and nurturing excellent students with the expectation that the results will be increasingly higher, creating more impressions to honor the homeland of Quang Tri in the regional and international arena in the coming time. To achieve that, we hope that teachers will continue to cultivate and improve their professional qualifications, innovate teaching methods, and be worthy of being a shining example of the spirit of self-study, creative research.
I hope that students will nurture the spirit of learning, train their courage and determination to bring glory to themselves, their families and their clans; to affirm the position of the provincial education and training sector and at the same time glorify the tradition of studiousness of Quang Tri homeland. I believe that the education and training sector of Quang Tri will continue to have new developments and achieve more outstanding achievements in the coming time.
On this occasion, the Minister of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to 25 students who won first, second and third prizes; the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 2 groups, 5 teachers and 25 students who won first, second and third prizes; the Director of the Department of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to 35 students who won encouragement prizes.
