Phu Thinh Bridge is the 9th bridge across the Red River, and is being rushed to open to traffic on April 30.
The architecture of Phu Thinh Bridge is inspired by Ngu Chi Son range (5 mountains, considered the most majestic mountains in the Northwest of Hoang Lien Son range) and Fansipan peak. The steel arch structure of the 5-span bridge simulates 5 mountain peaks, symbolizing Ngu Chi Son range. The highest peak in the middle with a span design of about 102m wide (ensuring a 50m clearance for ships), about 33m high above the designed water level, symbolizing Fansipan peak. In addition, the bridge will have 6 sightseeing stops, combined with trees to create "green oases". The bridge is built with reinforced concrete, prestressed reinforced concrete and steel, and can withstand earthquakes of level 7.
